Any cheap phone line + DSL?

AT&T just increased the rate so I am paying about $40+ per month for phone + DSL. Any cheaper one? I don't use this phone to call long distance anyways (only for fax and go online).

We use AT&T too, and phone (local only but sometimes the calls made to a "toll 3 area" makes phone part of the bill a bit higher) bill breakdown is:

DSL $19.99 a month
Local Phone is slightly variable: $25 to $30 a month.

So we pay slightly more here in Calfornia. $45-50 each month.

We have about a mid-range quality of DSL, and could go to the cheaper variety -- I think it's $9.99/month. But both DH & I spend more time with the computers than we ever do in front of a television. So we pay for the topmost speed that our old wiring will support.

We pay about $60 for our internet and cable which I think is high and can be cut to half. I did some research and found that it indeed can be cut to half depending upon which areas you live.

ATT has something called Measured Rate service for $6/pm as a home phone. Then you can get $10/pm basic DSL. And then you can get $13/pm Comcast basic cable. So entire cost of phone+internet+cable comes to be around $30/pm. All this depends upon whether these services are offered in your area.
