Default Whoohoo! House I like reduced 30k!

I have been eyeing a gorgeous estate house from afar, Yesterday it was moved from a house that is too big, in need of too much work at the tippy top of my price range to a house that is too big, needs too much work right in the middle of my price range.

I'm going to look at it in 2 1/2 more weeks (and others). I saw it when it first became listed almost 3 months ago and just admired it, thinking it would be sold the next day.

A week later I came across the house again and it was not sold and I found that interesting.

I have done quite a bit of legwork concerning a house that is way too big, in need of way too much work that I have never seen before. I learned that it was overpriced by 65k according to tax documents that show no permits being pulled for improvements.

However, I was able to pull some tax assessment pictures of the house from last year and there was some construction going on.

So at this point I am unsure of how much $$ was put into the house, but the reduced price of 30k is going in the right direction!!

I am going to see this house (I keep telling myself it's out of curiosity) and others that are more reasonably sized soon.

I'm not ready to pull any triggers yet, but I am closer than I was a few months ago, and wanted to share this small victory with you all.

Heres the house. It's too big. But I am shopping for a forever home and boy, I can picture this thing turning into a family heirloom.

Thanks! I'm not sure what I want. I am having fun right now admiring this house. I realize that the reality of walking into it and seeing all the work that needs to be done, then going home and crunching the numbers will kills this dream. So I am living in the moment, enjoying that this is closer to my grasp than it was before.

I understand. My wife and I are negotiating for a commercial property right now (that needs a LOT of work). The property just dropped in price after quite some time so it's kind of similar situation to the one you're in. Keep on plugging away!
