Default More Interesting Japanese TV

I watched a great show last night...the show took young Japanese women that spent a fortune on their wardrobes and had them choose one item that they were willing to give up. The show took the item to a pawn shop and got money for it...usually to the tune of $500 or more (usually the women were protesting the whole time that they didn't want to give up the item). They then took the money and gave it to a charity...and showed how the money was spent.

One gave up a handbag and the money went to buy shoes for kids who made their living shifting through garbage dumps in the Philippines. It showed why the shoes were so important since a lot of the kids ended up getting cuts on thier feet in the dump which lead to terrible infections. By the end ot the show, all these young women that were so obviously materialistic at the beginning were moved to tears on how their donation had helped.

It was quite interesting and a change from the normal idiotic TV that is usually on.

Seems that I like their tv better than ours. I guess that's why we haven't had tv for over 6 years.
