Goals for the rest of the year
So I woke up today and realized that 2008 is almost 1/3 over. Wow! Where does the time go? Anyway, there are a few things that I would like to accomplish before this year ends. One, pay off the last of my credit cards. Two, pay off my truck. Three, finish a few projects around the house that were started in the fall.
Also, I'm graduating school in a few weeks, so I'm looking at student loan repayments starting in November or December. I need to figure that out, but it depends on what kind of an interest rate I can get on them as to how I approach them.
For now, I am satisfied with the amount that I am saving and investing each month. I'm putting away somewhere around 25% of my yearly gross income. My goal in the next few years will most likely focus on paying down debt. I'll probably be holding the line so to speak with my savings amount. That is of course unless I get a new higher paying job as a result of the degree that I will be getting.
What does everyone else have in terms of goals for the rest of the year?

Have my credit card paid off by the end of August (I'm on an aggressive plan) and then start saving money so I have something to graduate college with come next may.

I just paid off my credit cards this month. Now I am trying to decide how much to put in an emergency fund and how much to save for a new-to-me car. I know I need to save enough for the ef and car by the end of the year.

If I can make it two more months without killing someone, or wanting to kill someone, I think I made my goal. LOL.
My goal is for the twins to leave the ICU. All other issues are irrelavent.

jIM, you are right. That makes all other goals seem silly. Hope all is going well. I was in your neck of the woods las week. Stopped off the Milford exit to get gas on the way to TN.

I want to have $15,000 in the bank by the end of the year. I am at $4,300 now.
Trying to save about $750 a pay.
We'll see how it goes...

I've been pondering this since I read the post a few days ago. It sort of ties in with DisneySteve's post a while back about 'what are you saving for?'
First of all, I'm sending ((healthy and happy baby vibes)) to Jim in Ohio because I think he has the best goal so far.
It's hard for me to pick for just one thing because I'm having a hard time prioritizing. Our EF is funded, so what's next?
I recognize that fully funding my ROTH is not attainable this year so I will set a goal of adding $1500 by Dec 31. Money is pretty tight around these parts so I think that will be a challenge, yet is still attainable.

I'd probably like to do what a lot of people here are doing and save up some money for the future. Good luck to everyone

Hmm, hadn't thought too much yet, but here's what I can consider a goal as of right now:
1. Get credit card paid off (paid in full each month, so should occur next paycheck--4/30)
2. Open a 529 account for my daughter and start saving for college.
3. Save at least $1000 in my ING savings account.
Those are the ones I can think of at this moment, lol, but I'm sure I can keep adding!
