Can you sell your old clothes at a good quality resale shop? You could use this money to partially offset your clothing allowance. You may even be able to find some of your clothing in a resale shop.

I have the same problem with expensive clothes. In fact, it's gotten so bad that I don't bother to even look at places like Target. I try to compensate for my addiction by looking for coupons on Ebay that are for the stores I like to shop in. For instance, I like the Express store and my wife like Cache. It's pretty typical for me to find a coupon on Ebay I can buy. I can usually save at least $10 or more this way!
