Default Does anyone else have pets?

Are their any other pet owners out there? As you might have guessed, I have a rabbit. I had a pet dog, but she died last year. Does anyone else here have pets?

We have a virtual zoo. One dog, three cats and a rabbit. All but the rabbit were strays. The rabbit came from a friend. Add them all with the size of apartments in Japan and you have a mini zoo.

We have a cat and a dog. it's nice to see so many other pet owners here. A question. For cat and dog owners, do you have any special hints to save money on them? I have found that you can get quite a few free samples for pets that I grab or apply for whenever I have a chance. I also use our local pet store to get vaccines at a big discount.

I have two dogs and two cats. When I was widowed 4 four years ago my spouse had 23 ferrets. I eventually found good homes for the ferrets.

12 cats-no pedigrees I'm afraid, all were either strays or from "friends'
best advice is to find the best vet you can- may not be the cheapest but someone with whom you feel comfortable and who loves your animals

A dog here - a Rottie/Lab mix ~ looking about 98% Rott. He's a big guy - 92 pounds at 3 years, although we just adopted him from the SPCA 8 months ago...

So, those of you out there with pets - do you have pet insurance? If so, what would you recommend? (This is my first dog, so I'm not very experienced on the doggy health care...)

I never had pet insurance for my dog. I've heard good and bad things about it. I think if your dog is older and prone to many vet visits it might be something to think about. It may have paid for iteself toward the end of his life, but the many years he was healthy, it would have been a waste of money.

We have a stray that visits us, we refuse to call it ours, and frequently remind it not to get to spoiled on our leftovers (my fridge has never been cleaner!) but he keeps comming back. the kids love seeing her outside, but it is not our cat, just a stray we feed leftovers to.

How do you think we got 12- seriously she is your cat- cat's choose their owners, and we humans comply.
If she doesn't have another home, seriously look at getting her spayed with shots, animal clinic may do it for you very cheaply-strays and rescued animals often make the most wonderful pets, it's as if they know they have been saved and will repay you with tons of love and loyalty

We have 5 dogs and 5 cats. We had a rabbit, a horse, and a milking cow, but we got rid of them.

4 of our dogs are akc Boston Terriers--2 males and 2 females. We have 2 males because one is a dud and one is a stud. We breed them for extra income. $100 per pup goes to each of my girls. They save most of the money, but the rest they tith and pay for all their personal expenses.

Before anyone blasts me, even though we raise them, they are our pets. They even sleep with us at night. On another list, someone called me a puppy mill, but this is not the case. Someone else called me a backyard breeder, but this isn't the case either. We are more of a "companion breeder". The tears that are shed by buyers who are replacing their beloved pet who died is priceless.

It's ok not to agree with our breeding, but please be kind. At least they are all adopted to people who want them, unlike people who don't get their pets fixed and the offspring end up at the pound.

BTW, all our cats are fixed on the one yellow lab is fixed.
