Not to be (too much of) a jerk but yeah, my advice would be not to apply/open an account and then change your mind right away. You know, the whole "look before you leap" thing.

Now, on to something helpful: If you want to close the account and get the money back, I'd probably just call the bank and make sure the account is closed. They'll probably send you a check for the account balance. Or, you could press the issue and see if they'll reverse the transfer.

Or, you could just keep the money in the account, which is most likely what I would do. Might as well take advantage of the 6% promo.

No, I wouldn't worry. It sounds like since the transfer was initiated before you closed the account that the money did move but since the FNBO account was closed the funds will be 'bounced' back to other account. Just check your bank tonight and tomorrow (or tomorrow night, depending on your bank's posting practices) and you should see your money returned.

Quick question: Why did you start this and then change your mind?

I thought about it and said it would be troublesome to keep up with three accounts so i opted out of the fnbo one even though they have a great rate.

They are; it's First National Bank of Omaha. We've had an online account with them for over a year. So far, so good.

I've had an account there for about four months and haven't had a single issue.
