Question to the Administrator

I have started 2 threads since becoming a member of this board..both of those threads were legitmate discussable topics with some popularity. They both had replies and several views over 50 on one lastnight. So why are they being removed???

I wasn't the one that deleted the threads so I can't be sure, but my hunch is you didn't follow the following rule:

Linking to your site in posts: Let your posts do your talking and convince people to visit your site. We allow you to link in your signature so we do not allow you to link to your site in the the body of the posts. If there is relevant information that you want to express that happens to be on your site, simply copy that information into your post here.

Yes, that is the reason that the posts were removed. Unfortunately, we know from past experience that it's a slippery slope once we allow this even if your intentions were purely educational. What happens is that many people come simply to post links back to articles they have written. As mentioned above, unlike many sites we do allow a link to your blog or site in the signature and if you make quality posts here, people will want to see more of what you have to say. We feel this is a reasonable stance that allows you to get traffic while making sure that the forums don't get filled with spam.
