Never heard a word about America's Cheapest Family. What show were they on and what other info do you have on them?

I missed that show, might be interesting to see if I can pick up any pointers. We sometimes shop with walkie talkies, but I don't see how that can save you any money. Just that the stores are so big and I lose him, lol!

They have a website, I've seen it. They also do the grocery shopping only once a month - tag team style.

I saw that family on 20/20 a few weeks ago.
They have some good ideas, but buying meat that may be going bad is not something I want to do.

Read a book about Hetty Green and you will really get the real definition of cheap.

americas cheapest family book is $8.36 used at amzn..... has anyone read it or receive the newsletter??? i did locate online and read parts of a newsletter,, after i goog their title "americas cheapest family." the daughter they interviewed was very good, her outfit cost her $8.. the dad had a high priced shirt, name brand he purchased for $2......they spend $59 a month on groceries, per person... they had a point system, and points were doubled at the end of the week if the person completed their chores... i think they paid each one $10 a week for clothing only... interesting.. i may have some of this mixed up, due to valentines day and i am rushing to type this reply..............

I was given a gift card to Barnes and Noble for Christmas and purchased the book. IMHO, the information on this site would benefit you more than purchasing The Cheapest Family in America book. The info in it is very basic. Dave Ramsey's books or the Tightwad Gazette complete edition would be better choices to spend your money on.
