I know we need to head on over to a r/e lawyer to get the offical words on our situation... but,
I was wondering if anyone of you had a house on 1 lot with a couple of other lots as part of your land. Our driveway is an easement to 2 lots. Our house in on 1 lot. I would love to condo-ize a 2 or 3 family on the other lots and sell them off for some $. I would just like to hear of other people's experiences if there are any... |

Before spending $ on a lawyer you should head to the Planning and Zoning office of your community. I am sure they can give you plenty of info to start with.

We are considering doing just that - WHEN and IF we decide to sell out. Would love to hear how this plays itself out for you.

In our area, once a piece of property has been subdivided once, it cannot be divided again. We are on 2 acres, but when I sell the house, the whole 2 acres goes with it.

In our area, zoned rural, a peice of land can NOT have a house on it unless it has 10 acres or more.
That really surprised a neighbor of ours who thought he could subdivide his place into 5 acre lots and create his own housing addition... |
