MY Ford Escort died last week. I'm now borrowing my parents Subaru Forester until I have time to shop around for cars (I'm a tax preparer so they lent me the car until April)

I'm driving a '98 Saturn SL2. I'd love to drive a top-of-the-line Mercedes. Maybe I'll get one for my mid-life crisis....

I like fast...this just might work to satisfy that craving:

ImaSaver, do not show this to your husband or you'll be running up
those stairs continually to provide him with his newest toy!!!

Gosh no, I won't show him. My speedometer shows a high of 200 mph! 55 is fast enough for me!

Ima, you wouldnt get away wtih going 55 around here. THe road signs all say that, but when I go 65 I am being passed in all directions. Many times on highways, it's not safer to drive slower than the crowd.

That is why we never drive on interstates, even when we go on vacations. I can't stand to drive fast or ride with someone who does drive fast. We take the little back roads. It takes a lot longer to get there, but I am never in a hurry.

The roads I take to work are not interstates. They're parkways (2 lanes in each direction, exits like any other highway). They're too narrow to fly down but people do anyways.

I personally can't stand back roads and avoid them whenever possible. i had a college commute of all back roads, and I was always stuck behind a school bus, garbage truck, senior citizen, etc.

When you go on vacations it's different but I shouldnt have to leave an hour ahead of time for a 20 minute drive to school.

We live in the mountains, so the roads are pretty curvy. I was always patient with elderly drivers. We are all going to get old someday and how will we get around??

I think that there is also much more patience in North Georgia (looking at your location) than there is in NY. People in NY are ALWAYS in a rush.

I'm hoping that by the time I get old, I will still be able to maintain my speed as a courtesy to other drivers. I also have a feeling that by the time I get old (i'm 26 now) that I will have to take another road test to keep driving.
