Financially...recording all new purchases..and paying at least one extra car payment a quarter.

I also have a goal of increasing involvement in volunteerism...been to long without.

I find that I tend to make my grandest resolutions in the late summer rather than with the arrival of January. I tend to think of September as being the beginning of a year (school year). Anyway, no new resolutions; just need to stick to what I'm doing. If something new comes up that I want to take on, I'll consider it.

Financial:
1. Increased 401k contribution from 12% to 15%.
2. Continue monthly pre-payments on my mortgage all year long.

Personal:
1. Continue to find new social outlets, such as my book discussion club.
2. Get weight back down to 119 (ideal). Would be happy with "under 125."
This means: more walking again. Doing 15 minutes of stair stepping DAILY.

I am gonna save $300.00 a week!! Please pray that I can do this. My oldest son turns 16 by this time next year and i'd like to buy him a small truck and pay cash! It will definately be used and cheap! Being it's a first car for him, I don't want to spend alot of money and I don't want to finance anything. He would help me pay for it if I financed it, but I don't want either of us to be paying interest on a car loan! I also want to pay cash for Christmas next year, and just have extra cash period. I have figured a budget and I think I can reasonable save $300.00 a week. I sure hope I can!!

Let's see......,

Max out my Roth IRA contributions, bump up my 401K contributions, finish up a few projects that I have going on around my house; namely getting a gas line run out to my garage to finally get heat out there, getting 220 service out there for my air compressor, staining my deck, finishing my shed, finishing my gutters, and putting a drain pipe across my driveway. Other than that, just keep working away at finishing up my MBA. All that should keep me busy most of '07.

I want to get a permanent part time job, live very frugally, and still save at least 10% of my income into a retirement fund. At the moment because I am temping I save as much as possible to tide me over between jobs.

Resolutions for 2007
1. Stick to budget
2. Stay focused on becoming debt free
3. and the old stand by, lose some of this extra weight. (could be accomplished by not eating out which helps waist and checkbook!!!)

Thanks froggie!! Thats what I need to do too. I love to go out to eat and I need to stop it. For instance, I brought Dad out for dinner last nite , knowing I had a $25 gift card for this restarant (perk of being a school bus driver ) and the waitress gives us the bill, and I go to get my gift card and I forgot to grab it of the dining room table at home!!! I paid it and was kicking myself on the way out

My resolutions are to first , pay off my land, second, pay off my car. Take a vacation for the first time in years. Save another $20,000 in the $20 challenge and earn $20,000 in interest on my savings.
