Default Work bonuses do you?

I was wondering how many people receive bonuses from work. I own a
small business and have given them every year dating back as for as the year my Dad started the company 1978. Some years were tough and we would have to dip into our line of credit at the bank, not to smart but happy employees are good employees.

I receive bonuses from work, my boss owns a small brick laying company and employs about 5-8 of us depending on the time of year. I've always received a bonus of some sort from him.

I work for a very small firm, last year we got no bonuses at all. A case settled unexpectedly at the beginning of December so we all got $500.00 bonuses on our last check. Yahoo!

I believe in the previous 2 years i was here i've gotten a bonus that's equivalent to a week's pay. I'm feeling anxious about it this year as in the past they gave the bonuses out at the Xmas party or mailed it to employees who didn't attend the party. I didn't go, and still haven't gotten it. Our regular paycheck is due this friday; maybe it'll be in that check. crossing my fingers as i was kind of counting on it for a bit of a savings boost.

Our company ties in the year end bonus with how far under budget the company is (as a whole, not by department) for the previous fiscal year (fiscal ends in June so the numbers are in by the time the bonus checks need to be cut in Dec). It ranges from a guaranteed minimum of $250, up to 4% of your yearly pay (the more under budget we are, the more we get). This year we qualified for and received the full 4%!

I've worked for other companies that didn't offer bonuses, either because they were cheap or truely didn't have the money. Either way I never minded, bonuses are nice but should never be counted on (that's why they are called a "bonus"!).

I get a $100 Christmas bonus and a larger bonus (usually a week or two of pay, pro-rated for how long you've been there) in March/April.

This year, I am saving my Christmas bonus, using my large bonus to make an extra payment on the principal for my car, and using my tax refund to fund a vacation.

I am trying to keep me and my savings account happy!

No. Government employee here. However, I did get a cash award for performance earlier in the month; it was unrelated to the holidays.

My husband doesn't get a Christmas bonus but he does get a yearly Safety Bonus. Employees who go the whole year without any at fault on the job injuries or accidents or causing an injury to others through their actions receive these every March. After taxes it is usually $800. He's gotten it every year since he's worked there but one, when it was cut in half because he accidently drove off the ice road and onto the tundra (big no no up there). They do give some leeway when weather conditions are bad so he didn't lose the whole bonus.

The Hubster got a nice fat bonus this year and I believe he got one last year. This year only four or five guys in the whole plant got a bonus at all, so it was nice that he was one of them!

Some years they give them and some years they don't. I've learned not to count on it. When one shows up - hurrahhhhh!!
