Default $5,000,000 for 5 months

yep, goes to show the US is crazy. Martha Stewart - breaks the law, gets sentenced to jail and paid $1,000,000 a month while there for writing a book. 5 moths in jail for $5,000,000? anytime...tell me where to sign up!

Did Stewart write a book while in jail? If it has been published, what was the name of it, please? Perhaps a link to a news story on what you are saying would help me.

Do you think a person should not be able to earn money at all while in jail? There are some laws prohibiting one to earn money in jail such as from the sale of books about one's crime.

The OP was from 2004...so it would be an old book.

Martha Stewart - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Stewart agreed in September 2004 to begin serving a five-month prison term.....
In October 2005, Stewart also released a new book called The Martha Rules on starting and managing a new business, and a month later her company released Martha Stewart Baking Handbook.

The timing would suggest a book written while in prison...

I saw this very book today in the grocery store. I would not trade five months of my life and freedom for five million dollars. I would miss my family way too much.

anyone can do this. just become famous and write some jibberish. since people are so obsessed with celebrities in this day and age, you're bound to make millions off it.

I think any books written from a convict should be un publishable...unless they were put there then 10years later found innocent of the crime which they were committed.
