Cool Do you make extra credit card payments?

do you send one payment in when it's due with extra money on it? , or do you pay with paypal and make a bunch of payments on it as you get it?

Always pay it off if possible at the end of the month. I always in the past sent more than the minimum so as to get out of debt!

I pay the bills in full within a couple of days of them arriving.

All bills paid in full on the first of the month. Got into the habit because I'm paid once a month.

I am too deeply in debt to pay CC in full, but since I don't really use them anymore, I'm just paying on them. I pay one payment with extra amounts on the accounts that I mail, and make additional payments on the local accounts.

Our money is in our mortgage account reducing our interest bill. I transfer the money to our credit card the working day before it is due.

I'm proud to say that we only have a balance on one credit card remaining as part of our debt elimination plan. On that card, I send a payment in the day my statement is available online and then I send another payment about two weeks later (mid-cycle). This saves some interest and it especially adds up considering that I do this each and every month. In addition, if I have some extra money at virtually any given time I may also send a payment in then. This credit card lets me make payments online every 3 days, so I am pretty free to make payments at will.

CC is now paid off, but I used to send just one lump sum..it was practically ALL availible funds, leaving just barely enough for groceries, and gas. and I only had extra one pay check a month (the other went to mortgage)

Now we are working on the car, and I plan to do the same thing, though we now get paid weekly..seems to be more money..course we also make more..heh..a problem, but a nice problem to have!

There are months that I had a large purchase and didn't PIF. I would divide the balance into 3 payments and in 90 days I was back to a zero balance. It all depends on your individual circumstances.

When I was heavily in debt, I sent each creditor $10.00 over my monthly payment. I never sent the minimum. Even if it is a $1.00 over , your account will say "Pays more than the minimum" which looks pretty good upon review of your account I would imagine.

Just my 2 cents!

I usually pay about twice or more per month, depending on how often I've used my credit card. This is only because I have my cc connected to my online banking, so I pay it off within a few days of spending, regardless of when my cc bill is due.

If I had to pay it off through snail mail, I would just pay the full amount each time. My balance is never very high because I (mostly) only use my cc for fixed things like my cell phone bill.

I make $500 every two weeks on 1 CC and pay the others about the minimum. I've got to get the citibank @ 19.99% paid of first. that should be about the 25th. Then it's on to the next one.

For those of you trying to get out of debt on your cc, any extra sent in with your payment will help reduce the debt you owe...send anything and everything you can.

I pay mine off as soon as the item clears online, usually about 2 days after I purchase. Sometime I wait 3-4 days if I'm waiting to be reimbursed at work.

The one I pay off in full each month, I just pay the full amount in one payment.

The one I'm making payments on, I pay the minimum the day the statement is available online to insure I'm not late and screw up my 0% interest promotion. Then I send a second payment with whatever extra I can afford that month (which lately, hasn't been anything! Stupid truck repairs...)

I don't think that the credit reports show "pays more than the minimum." They show the amount of your minimum payment, and how much you paid when it was most recently reported. If you pay at least the minimum on time, it shows "pays as agreed." The FICO score considers your outstanding account balance relative to your credit limit. So it otherwise doesn't matter how much you paid in relation to the minimum amount required.
