Cool where to find and what to look for in a mattress

some are cheap and some are outrageous. I'm looking for a queen. do I go ahead and spend the extra money on a 2 sided mattress , so I can use it twice as long( as the guy trying to sell it to me stated) what is a good price for a decent mattress?

That's a good question, I'm looking to buy a queen mattress myself but I'm pretty clueless as to what to look for!

Me too. We all need new mattresses, but I've put it off because of cost and just plain ignorance of what would work best for us.

Ah, mattresses. That's a tough one, that.

Truth is, for a truely good value, you're going to want to spend a lot. Nothing anyone really wants to hear though, is it?

Every type of mattresses (air, foam, water, spring, or any mix thereof) has their pros and cons. What you ultimately settle on depends on what your needs are, and more importantly, how much you're willing to spend.

Here's my blog entry on my thinking for mattresses, and you can see pictures of my mattress in this blog entry.

Suffice to say, I've spent an outrageous sum, but it's the only thing that I am currently willing to pay $$$ for. I should also add that it's been a very nice, comfortable mattress that requires next to no maintenance, and over time, it should also end up as a better value than buying less expensive mattresses.

I just bought a full pillowtop mattress for around $500 and I LOVE IT. It's like sleeping on a cloud.

IMO a mattress is not something that you should be cheap with. Get something of quality. If you divide it up over the lifespan of the mattress, it winds up being a few cents a night. That is well worth a good night sleep. Plus a good night sleep makes you more productive at work, in a better mood, etc.
