What's the Last Thing You Gave Away?

I feel like i am constantly giving things away...and there's always more!

This weekend will be giving mom some of my tupperware; i've accumulated tons of it i dont need

also giving the library some read magazines; gave them some books last week.

What's the last thing you've given away?

The last thing I gave away was a computer monitor.

Covered a medical expense for someone who lacked the means.

Well, even though I still have not fixed the zipper on my coat, I just gave away a second coat I liked perfectly well. My neighbor had given it to me. I've recently made friends with another neighbor who had no coat at all, so of course I gave her the one that had been given to me. I hope she really likes and will wear it. So far she has been just making do with a sweater. If I never see her wear the nice coat, I'm afraid I will wish I had it back.

Clothing to the Clothes Closet, and Sunday I am giving a lady at church some toys she can use at Christmas.

lol... as i posted in the thread about stuff, i'm purging so there's plenty of stuff to give away... i generally try to find out if anybody in the family wants it first... if not, then i'll give it away to whoever seems like they might need it... most recent non-family stuff? clothes and misc stuff for a co-workers family... most recent family stuff? x-mas decorations for the workplace...

2 cribs, mattress, toddler bed, 2 strollers, baby clothes, working VCR, clothes and more clothes, dishes, cups, toys. Most of the baby stuff went to a friend and the other to Goodwill.

Earlier today I sent CashHappySon off to work with men's winter coveralls that no longer fit either of mine but will fit one of his co-workers' sons whom we also go to church with.

Located this morning one of the boys' had a too small t-shirt in his dresser and a pair of shorts that won't fit anyone here...tomorrow they'll go in a sack and off to his work for the same family.

I wanted to declutter and yet there were so many things that were sentimental to me and someone advised that I find individual people to give them to so they would have a good home (so to speak). I had had a monthly gettogether dinner with a ladies group and I put all of these things in a box and told them to go and look and take whatever they wanted because I was giving it away. They were totally thrilled and I felt good about donating to people I knew.

The last thing I gave away was a dress a friend will wear this Saturday on an alumni homecoming celebration.

i read a great tip on this very thing: when you have a sentimental useless something, take a picture of it. or take a picture of your family, yourself, or a loved one with it. whichever you choose, keep the picture and give the item to someone who will use it. that way, you'll always have the picture to remind you of what it was that was so special.

Thanks. I was told to also take pictures also. After all, it's the memory of the object not that we always touch it or hold it.

I gave away a washing machine for my MIL (I posted on freecycle for her). I recently went through my clothes to donate what I didn't need to a clothing drive. I also have a pile of new things (several unopened toys, sweatshirt, socks, etc.) from my regift pile that I am going to donate to a Christmas drive.

I gave some money to a lady in need. I also gave away my treadmill to a lady that needed to exercise for medical reasons. (I got a new one)
