They'll just get you later. It's like the boycott buying gasoline days that I always see. You need to buy it eventually. Whether it be today, tomorrow, or the next day, eventually you are going to need it. You're only delaying your purchase, not avoiding it.

My Guy did attempt to go "out there" because he was looking for a dek. he managed to deal with one used furniture place okay, but was back wiht no prucahes and he was stunned by the activity out there.

I've been staying home sorting and de-cluttering...today will be a net loss for me in terms of material goods!!!

You know what? I just went out to Target tonight, just to see if I can get in there and get a few shopping items off my list. I was expecting a very large crowd-- and it was reasonably large-- but overall, my shopping experience there went quite smoothly. I even jokingly asked if she was tired yet, but she smiled back and actually said, "No, I'm doing just fine!" Amazing.

I was going to turn around and go home if it looked too hectic, but it was surprisingly pleasant! I did go at 8pm though....

Stayed home, bought nothing. My brother went to Wal-Mart last night and also said it was quite tame. I guess the 5 am crowds are all too tired by 8 pm.

It's kinda like the no gas buying day. Interesting in theory but totally useless. even if I did not buy gas today (I didnt') I will buy gas tomorrow or monday or whatever. Ditto for shopping, I went to walmart today for a few things but I haven't shopped at walmart or anywhere else in over a week. It would have to be more like no purchases for 1 week or 1 month for it to even be felt. Sure it would be weird to see no one at the store but the next day everyone would be there. I would love to see if there could be a no shopping for 1 month test. THAT would be interesting to watch and observe the results. Of course you need to keep in mind that we are hurting employees jobs too. sorta a catch 22.
