How Often Do You Fly the Friendly Skies?

How often do you travel by plane? I recently took a trip for a conference. I have flown about 4 times in my life. Seems like some people fly alot. Seems like it could get pretty expensive with the cost of airport food, airline tickets, etc.

I fly about once a month now for work. Sometimes twice. It is odd to fly frequently, I used to fly maybe once every few years. I also fly a couple times a year for vacation, and that often involves multiple flights. I'm home right now posting because my flight was cancelled this morning; I fly tonight.

As far as the cost, when I fly for work I do get per diem, and always avoid airport food. What does bug me now is the liquid ban; I used to brink my own water, and lots of it.

i've only flown a handful of times, but almost every one of them was somehow through atlanta, o'hare, or dulles. found out a couple of years ago that atlanta (hartsfield) and o'hare usually vie for the distinction of 'busiest airport'. great...

i've been in 3 international airports: santiago, chili and buenos aires and cordoba, argentina. in cordoba they had 2 military personnel with automatic weapons in the baggage pickup area, but other than that odd sight all the int'l airports were just as easy (if not easier) to maneuver as their domestic counterparts. i even had to spend the night in the BA airport (buenos aires, not broken arrow ).

Now that we live about 1000 miles from family, I fly several times a year. When we first moved here I flew every week for a couple of months.

We usually fly about once every 2 years when we take a vacation to someplace we can't drive to. We flew twice in 2005. Once for a cruise and once for a trip to California. We haven't flown since August 2005. We might fly summer of 2007. Not sure yet as we haven't decided on our vacation plans.

we rarely travel (almost all our family lives here which helps) because we are on such a tight budget so we don't fly much... most people who live in hawaii probably fly more than others since we have to fly to go anywhere but here... can't hop in the car for a road trip... we maybe fly somewhere every couple of years...

1999 was the last time I flew anywhere. Hubby flies every couple of weeks for work.

I am in Taiwan right now. I usually fly, 3-4 times a year for business.

I usually fly a couple of times a year and I feel like I NEVER travel - hehe.

In college it was easy to get super cheap fares - Southwest, Cheaptickets, then along came JEtBlue. Plus when you are flexible on times - it's great - I would say often when I fly it is cheaper than the gas to drive. But that is pre-2001. It seems a lot harder to find the deals these days and cheaptickets/priceline(?), etc. are the norm now - before those were hidden gems. Trying to plan around work vacations I do find airfare a lot more pricey.

I mostly fly to see family too - my extended family all lives in the mid-west.

In my old life, I traveled at least 2-3 times a year for my job and at least once for pleasure.

Now that I am a wahm- We dont fly at all. Our travels are now purposely within driving distance.

I haven't flown since long before 9/11, so i'm sure it will be a shock when i do.
