Smile Recycling Glass Jars??????

i just cleaned and dried my store bought spaghetti jar and filled it with dry pinto beans... i use my recycled jars for alot of things, storing pasta, beans, dry milk, brown sugar, etc.. i have saved them and made floral displays for gifts in the summer... i use them for left overs in the fridge.. i have used them to make soup, cocoa, mixes for gifts... i was wondering what you use your recycled jars for....please comment...

use them for jar gifts and to collect odd buttons for niece (usually buy them at the thrift store when cheap).

I put paint in them. Seriously, when painting small areas and stuff with small brushes, I put paint in the jar, then I can put the lid on and keep it good until I get back to the project. I love jars.

my grandmother saves them up, then when she cooks a meal resultig in meat scraps or bones, she puts them in the jar seals it up and throws it away. no smell, and the animals don't get into the garbage.

I don't keep them too often as I have two lil ones who don't know the difference between something breakable & not.

Though you can use glass baby jars as votive candle holders w/ a lil sprucing up & paint

or add a wire hanger & hang them in the trees @ night w/ a tea lite candle (saw that one on P.Allen Smith's gardening show)

I don't actually recycle them for my own use, but we do put them in the bin that is set out at the curb every week. Every once and a while I will snag one for collecting sand and/or other interesting nature items on vacation.

There is very little we buy that comes in glass jars. Offhand, the only things that come to mind are salsa, soy sauce and taco sauce. Pretty much everything else comes in a plastic bottle or metal can.

We don't save our glass bottles but do put them in the recycling bin, along with the plastic bottles and metal cans.
