Default Here we go with Fema again....

Well here we goooooo......Rep. Brian Higgins of Buffalo, New York is on TV now voicing his dissatisfaction with the poor response of Fema to taking care of the damage in Buffalo and Western Ny. Apparently the FEDS didn't know that Buffalo was located in Erie County when they okayed $5 million for emergencies. Higgins is calling for the President to come here!

Now there MAY NOT be assistance available for NY residents from FEMA.

This is awful as Hillary Clinton, D -Senator of NY, told everyone on Saturday that there would be FEMA help for those who suffered property loss. She emphatically stated that this was not the Old Fema.

What a mess!!! What what FEMA created to do??

Buffalo has been hard hit economically over the past few years. I hope the mess gets straightened out and that people who need assistance get it.
It is really a mess up there from what I have heard.

It's an awful mess. We are far enough south of them (100 miles) that we did not even get snow but our television stations are from Buffalo. The cancellations scroll across the bottom of the TV 24 hours a day. 6 have died so far and hundreds of thousands are still without electric and many won't have it until at least this Sunday. With the pouring rains and winds we've had today, it may be even longer. The devastation is unreal.

I am a llittle confused. Why aren't you getting fema aid. What does the county Buffalo is in have to do with it? I am very sorry that you seem to be caught up in an 8ncompetent fema.

I think the real first responders are usually the Red Cross and Salvation Army guys and gals. Hopefully, they are already on their way....

There are now 13 dead due to this storm. Another couple died today from carbon monoxide poisoning. They were found in their beds. People don't know how to use these generators. 5th day without power and people are resorting to stoves for heat. Hospitals are swamped!

The County of Erie is supposed to be getting $5 million dollars to help restore power and remove trees and debris from electrical lines and the roads. When the Feds were asked for aid for Western NY, they didn't include Buffalo in the tally, just the outlining suburbs. The Feds didn't know Buffalo was part of Erie County requesting aid as well, Sarah. Left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. It's a big mess here. I was just surprised that Fema would be so incompetent again after Katrina.

We didn't sustain any damage to file a claim, but there are so many who have great losses.
