The more you work, the more you make, the more you save!!
I’m a firm believer that hard work pays off. I just recently moved to the Washington DC area. I’ve managed to get a 6 month temp job in the IT field with a major company. I’ve been working there for 2 months, and I haven’t worked a week where I had less than 50 hours. Last week I worked 63 hours. 23 hours OT. Should be a nice check. |

Personally, I work 38.5 hours/week (including meal breaks).

37.5 hours, which my company considers full time. I can't get overtime (I'd take it if I could, though!). But I'm going to apply for a part time job, at least through Christmas.
DH can and does get a lot of OT, anywhere from 5 to 20 hours or more, depending on how many of his co-workers are on vacation, work load, and other factors. In fact this week he's picking up at least two extra full shifts on his days off and may work doubles on two other days this week. |

I work a lot too, but I'd much rather be spending the time with my family. I do about 45-50 hours a week at my job and then I have my own internet biz I do from home which takes up a good deal of time too. probably another 20-30 hours/week right now but hoping to have it more on autopilot soon.

20 hours per week at my main job, anywhere from 2-10 at my second job (real estate). Right now, it is more important for me to have time with my kids than earn more - they are 1 & 3 and I will never have this time back if I miss it

Well I'm a corporate attorney, so I work 50-60 hour weeks (for a fixed annual income
...albeit the annual pay is pretty good). Used to be worse, when I was with a large private firm my weeks would often go into the 80s and beyond for long periods. I've always worked mad hours though, so my current schedule feels like a breeze. |

As a salaried person, I can work the bare minimum or 24/7 and I don't make anything extra. Too bad I couldn't bill for all those hours spent mulling over lesson plans, conference topics, etc.

I work 40 hours/week at my first job, with overtime on occasion, and 12-18 hrs/week at my part-time job.

120 hours more or less! I have two full time jobs. One is a live in attendant for a person with autism. I do get to sleep on the overnight shift but just need to be available if for whatever reasons the consumer needs me.
I often do work 7 days a week with occasional day off on a few weekend if I use it for FTO pay. This is the reason why I am getting my stupid non-mortgage of +60K debts getting paid off. I am no officially down to the last 8K. All though I am proud of myself of accomplishing this much so far, I hate the fact that I worked two jobs for 4 years and had to sacrifice a lot of time from my family and friends. Also I have nothing to show for all that hard work but being debt free and who knows what happen in the future that may not let me be debt free lasting. I have personal financial freedom and can sleep well every night. Now I really have to focus and try to make the best choices of what I do with my money and time once this debt is totally paid off. The character adjustment is the greatest experience I ever learned. All but 3K that was paid off of this debt was from all the hard work I did and was not given to me. My SO has pointed out to me that often people try to identify themselves with an Identity and cling onto it. He reminded me that was not my original purpose in life and made me feel a whole lot better! It’s so nice to be with someone who does not value materialistic things over the quality of human gifts and relationships. Working two fulltime job is not for the faint of heart! Edit: Just forgot to add that this debts should be paid off by the end of December! I am soooooo counting the days ![]() |

40 hours May - December, 50 hours JAnuary - April.
HArd work is good, but working 60-80 hour week for 18 months my first job out of school, burned me out pretty fast. Plus for me I find I Can work 3 jobs and be happy but 1 job with too much overtime will drag me down pretty fast. I like variety. Going to school and working 3 jobs was more work, but I Thrived on it. For now my goal is to work as little as possible so I have more time for my kids. At the same time we are in budget crunch and I Am trying to work 43 hour week for the rest of the year - will net another $400/month. Tax season is crazy but I am lucky to have found a job with minimal tax season hours AND plenty or work to work 40 hours the rest of the year. Honestly I have it pretty sweet since most of the jobs in my field run the 60-hour-week variety OR the busy 4 months and no work left the rest of the year. Though that alternative will be nice when I am not the sole breadwinner. I will probably then stick with my job but be PT most of the year and FT during tax season. Oh yes I Also have it pretty sweet because I Am salaried but get paid overtime too. Not weekly/monthly, but I will get it eventually in an overtime bonus. |

I work 40 hours/week including 1 hour dinner breaks. I get a salary, so if the occasion comes up that I have to work late (which is very rare), I just make it up by leaving early the next day.

My dh works about 60 hours a week, usually 7days a week. He gets paid by the hour, but he does not get any overtime pay. He wants to take off more, but people just want their stuff done and don't think he should take off.

I work 40 hours a week usually. More hours does NOT mean more money for me; I earn "comp time" instead of overtime pay. So on days when I fly to Sacramento early in the morning and come back late at night, I actually "earn" a day off.
I don't have bills to pay off. I could get a second job to increase savings, but I like to have my free time, plus, I am able to do a lot of thrifty things because I have the time-sometimes people working a lot (plus a commute, which bless me I don't have) skip some frugal things. |

All of em..I am a mom, I don't even get sleep off, I make milk and way to often feed it to my youngest in the wee hours. But as for 'paid work' none..no one pays me for anything......
DH works 40 most weeks, but he gets enough overtime a year to keep us afloat on the bills. but not so much that he would lose out on the kids lives. |

Retired.
Currently work between 7 and 12 hours a week bookkeeping for a small local non-profit. Occasionally, I'll work more to cover the manager's absences, holidays and the like. I could certainly work more, but my free time is of greater value to me. After 32 years on someone else's schedule, it feels good to live on my own. ![]() |
