There's another weird one I'm keeping an eye out for, I only saw it few times before the 5th aniversary of 911, and I was so astounded that I turned off the TV.

It's a car ad.

With weird camera action.

Takes place in a downtown area with huge skyscrapers.

And they're doing "tricks" with the camera, which ended up reminding me of 911 when I saw people jumping out of the towers.

That's when I turned the channel.

I'd like to find out what type of automobile they are advertising, it's obviously time to start listing these vile products again.

I don't really watch commercials (zip through them with the TIVO) but man when I see some of them they ALL annoy me - LOL.

There are a few that stand out pretty bad yes.

My favorites are the commericals that you aren't even sure what the product is for - ??????? I can't think of any in particularl, but notice that more often these days. Seems to me if you are not sure what the product is, the ad has failed...

I do my bills, coupons or anything like that during commercial... I just don't pay a lot of attention to them and I get my stuff done at the same time.

Not everyone! I've never seen that commercial, have no idea what the product is or what it does, and don't have a clue what any of you are talking about. I guess my limited viewing of commercial tv doesn't qualify me as an 'everybody', since I often find that 'everybody' is talking about some commercial or tv show that I've never heard of.

The crazy thing is, I don't usually remember any of the products! I do know there seems to be a LOT of car/truck commericials. But I never pay close enough attention to any of them I guess.

We have TIVO (love our TIVO!), so we don't see many commercials unless DH is watching a game while helping in the kitchen or eating his dinner.

He hates most beer commercials because he feels they portray men as completely stupid and vulgar. I'm constantly amazed at that one where the men are all excited about the beer in the 'cooler box' or whatever it is. C'mon men, it is a plastic BAG inside a beer box...you coulda done that yourself!

We both hate the Quiznos commercials so much that we won't buy from them. I hate how the baby is coming on to women. I think that's just...gross.

On the flip side, hubby was impressed with the volvo commercials because he felt they really captured what it was like to be in an accident and emphasized something sensible about a car (safety) rather than something dumb like huge size, features nobody needs, or dumb kids wanting Mommy to get an SUV.

I used to hate the Old Navy commercials. They used to bug the hell out of me. Still do sometimes. Refused to shop there for years. As for Carl's Jr. While I can understand not liking the Paris Hilton comercial, I love their milk shake commercial with the guy and the cow. I laugh my ass off every time I see it.

There was Carl's Jr add, with some guy eating in a library....something about "fries, burger and a coke...don't bother me, I'm eating...." Hated hated hated it. All about me me me me, my needs trump everyones, my need to be loud and messy and eat grease in a library is more important than being a functioning participatory polite member of society....oooh, I really hated it. And I will not eat there, and I wrote them a letter stating so.

Theres also a commercial with a kid stepping on a chcolate bottle spraying a couch. Not sure what the product is, but it sure reminds me how irritating I sometimes find children. I just can't see finding that cute or acceptable; the kid seemed to be 4 or 5 or 6, able to know that it was wrong. I shudder. (Please, not interested in hearing why kids are great. Have them, love them, keep them behaved in public, raise them to be good people. I'll keep my distance.)

there's a commercial from a few years ago that makes me want to hurl. It was for Swiffer (I think) and it involved neighbors cleaning each other's houses, and being very excited and giddy about that. One couple had a swiffer, another didn't.

Ok if the excitement of your life involves cleaning your neighbor's house, I suggest you get out some more. If you had asked me to do that, I'd laugh in your face.

Well, call me a dumby. I had to go look head on up in google to remember what it was, lol. I guess I'm a little behind the times these days. I watch PBS usually, if anything at all (we don't have cable). We cancelled the newspaper to help save money and I don't own a radio...anymore. If I do watch another station I am usually up refilling my drink, going to the bathroom or preparing things for the next day (lunches, kids activities, etc.) during the commercial break, so I don't really get to see them too much. Sounds to me like maybe it's a good thing...

I don't watch much TV either, but last weekend when I wanted to learn more about that terrorist video with the personable smiling & laughing Mohamed Atta, I should have simply searched the news sites, instead of subjecting myself to some of this really irritating corporate marketers, LOL

I don't have cable, newspaper, or anything. In fact, I usually don't even read the news on the net....

But I do get my news from public radio; usually NPR / BBC when commuting to and from work.

Oh, but back to the original topic, YES, there have been commercials that have been so annoying that it actually repelled me from their products. Usually, it involves annoying people doing annoying things that are somehow supposed to be "funny" but isn't.

One example, was the office commercials from Burger King, before the Burger King King came along. In this series of commercials, this one co-worker was always being picked on or getting the short end of the stick. I honestly don't get why that makes for a compelling commercial. It didn't get me to stop eating Burger King or anything, but all things being equal, I went elsewhere.

I hate most commercials. I find most a big turn off. Some products I refuse to purchase just because of the commercials. For example, Pepsi. Um, if I wanted to be cool I wouldn't trip out a pepsi truck to show up at a party.

There is a Target spot on right now that ends with a woman singing. I can't change the channel fast enough! I would never boycott Tarjey

I friggin HATE those Target commercials that have the woman singing about "gotta have it right now, I want more." The promotion of materialism in the commerical makes me want to projectile vomit.
