Default Do you give your kids an allowance?

We used to put more aside like $5 a week when I was working after my oldest was born.

Now that I'm @ home we give them $1 each. They are both under 5 so they don't have a big concept of money yet. Though I'm trying to have a stash aside for them when they are grown for College or buying their first house. A sort of no touch fund unless it's absolutly necessary.

As my oldest takes on a few "chores" she's getting additional change to put in her piggy bank.

I think we've been through this subject a couple of times? In the end, I think it was decided that there should be a balance in there. Some things should be given (whether it's lunch money or paying for basic necessities), and some should be earned (such as buying toys).
