Default Sept 11 - 5 years on

I hope that everyone takes a minute or two to say a prayer (no matter what your religion or even if you aren't religious) for everyone affected by this tragedy. It's hard to believe it was 5 years ago.

Bloggers did a nice tribute that is worth taking a look at - 3,412 bloggers each wrote a tribute about one of the victims that died:

Broken Arrow, that was left standing that way, right? It wasn't constructed, but remained standing. Am I right about that?

Yeah, and it was one of the last things removed from the site and was give an escort of sorts drapped in an American Flag. I remember seeing it when I went there a couple of years ago. It became a make sift memorial at the site.

I can't believe it's been 5 years. It seems like yesterday.

It was one of those moments in our lives that people will always remember what they were doing when it happened, no matter what country they are in.

It's probably the one moment of my generation that we will never, ever forget (as people of an older generation seem to always remember where they were when they heard JFK was shot).
I was working, sitting in front of a television as I woke up the residents at shelter where I worked. I sat in stunned silence as the Today Show tried to figure out what happened. I will never forget that moment or the rest of that awful day.
My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families today.

I can't believe Bin Laden is still free (or breathing for that matter).

Truly a terrible day, for New Yorkers and for the rest of the country and world.

My subway train stopped for a minute this morning. Not unusual, as it often stalls a bit if there's a train ahead of it that it's following too closely, but this morning everyone looked up from their papers and looked at each other. We all seemed to be thinking the same thing. What if something's happened?

I know everyone who lives in the city who was there that day still carries it with them in their hearts. Even if you didn't lose anyone you know, and weren't affected in any way personally, we all tense up a little bit more when we hear a siren or a low-flying plane.

I know people are antsy today, and I understand.

To me, this is just another good reason to be more motivated towards a better future, not for ourselves, but those around us as well.
