Default Computer problem

I need a small laptop for work and home. I bought a lifebook 2545 with all of the bells and whistles I need for two hundred dollars. It worked wonderfully until I dropped it on the floor and broke the hard dirive. I was told that it woud cost around 140 for a new hard drive installed.

I decided that was to much money and bought a smaller used laptop that works fine when it is plugged in. However it no longer charges its batteries. I do however need a truly protable laptop.

I am in a quandry. Should I fix the one I dropped or go into debt and buy another computer. What do you think. I really do need a computer for work Any advice greatly appreciated.

You can replace the hard drive in a laptop for far less than $140. I would consider whether or not you, or someone you know, could install one and set up your system.

It may even possible to use the drive from the battery-challenged laptop in the other unit.
