Well, what you're doing right now is one way of doing so, although I would be careful with that because business solicitations are against the rules on many forum sites, including this one.
The other thing is to make sure you submit your website to all the major search engines out there. Google, yahoo, etc. Make sure that your home page has the proper hypertext markups and descriptions, as well as haveing the relevant keywords embedded, so that when the search engine scans your webpage, they can more accurately tag it. If you're willing to spend some coin, another option is to look into setting up a small shop on eBay or Yahoo auction. |

Also make sure you read the <a href="http://www.savingadvice.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1874">forum rules</a> before you start posting - breaking a forum's basic rules is a good way to get banned real quick

Nothing is wrong with your post now, but I had to take out your signature which you originally had.

Did you submit your site at dmoz.org? That's a good way to get picked up elsewhere.

I go to commercial websites based on the recommendations of other consumers more than any other way or reason. I visited two new-to-me commercial websites today and made an order at one. I had not even known of the existence of the product before I visited the site.
Reputation among customers is everything. When I hear of good products and good customer service from other people, that makes all the difference. Likewise if I hear of bad product or bad service---forget about it! Let someone else take the risk of dealing with that company! So what I'm saying is that if you have happy customers word will get around. If you have offline customers, make sure they know about your online service so that they can use it and recommend it to others. Consider whether you could even give existing customers a discount for using your website. That increases the odds that they will tell others about your site in a favorable manner. |

print your own flyers, put them on community BB, hand out flyers to friends. put flyers on cars in parking lots. i use vista print dot com to print things inexpensively. link to other sites, email me your site, if i like it will add it to my site. tell your friends about it. send out announcements to friends and family via email. take out an ad in the paper, i did, only $20. many many ways.

I would not put flyers on cars in parking lots. That creates a very negative reputation among many. However flyers on bulletin boards (at grocery stores, etc) is a much better way. You can even design a flyer with a tearoff that lists the contact info.

Start writing valuable content on a daily, or at least every other day basis. Be cognizant of keyword phrases you can rank for eventually and target those in your articles.
Swap links with some related sites and you'll get indexed. Submitting doesn't do much of anything. Start doing adwords if you can afford it. Add value to your site. Make people want to come back (like at this site). Be very patient! |
