Default Christmas

With just 4 months to go until Christmas, has anyone started shopping yet?

No. I'm trying to keep it in mind.

I know we have coats and boots to buy for 2 DD's. New tires for the car. Need to figure out Halloween costumes.

Pondering about it here as my dh is getting o/t now & it's too early to say if it'll last til feb or it's just a fluke for a while??? As they are often saying that they are going to be busy on XYZ month & less than half the time pans out.

So since he's raking in the o/t now I want to start buying some items for my girls & the holiday gift cards for everyone so it's taken care of incase the o/t disappears next week!

I did order my christmas cards from QVC. I spent a bit too much, but they are the cutest cards I have ever seen! Even the box can be displayed!

I bought the box of generic holiday cards @ wally world for $1 for 30 cards (? I think) & I've got them hiding in the closet.

a lil side note... you can cut the cards from the previous year in half & send them as post cards & cheaper on postage.

I found some books my DS has been wanting and since his b-day is in October and Christmas is coming I went ahead and ordered them.

I usually keep my eyes open all year for those special things that you really have to look for, other than that I watch the sales.

With just a few to shop for Christmas isn't the stress for me I see with some other people.

I haven't even started saving yet...

Christmas this year will depend a lot on whether I know if I have a job in 2007, and whether I can get my credit card paid off by that point.

I have some tchotchkes and some things I picked up at last year's sales, but I still have to do the bulk of my shopping.

Luckily I don't really need to buy for that many people. I do, however, need to have a "let's scale back Christmas" talk with my mom and I'm not exactly sure to how word it.

Have been buying a little as I go along. I usually pick up speed on it after August and all of the six birthdays I have to take care of then are out of the way and I can concentrate.

This month I've gotten 3 gifts taken care of.

I amlucky too. Now that the girls are teenagers (granddaughters) all they want is money. I only have my dh to buy for. I have no other family. We generally send a ham or something to dh's father.

That is what I use to do. Now, we have scaled way back and don't give each other so many presents.

I would love to, but kids with their fandangled technology moving so fast now... I sort of have to wait and see what happens. (I can't believe I'm saying this, because not too long ago, I was one of those "kids". )

I will begin next month. CJ's new bicycle is top on the list as well as a new guitar. The rest are little goodies that I can get throughout the season.

I bought Christmas cards right after Christmas very cheap as well as some bags. I've bought a couple of things here and there for people when we out and about. We have almost $500 in our Christmas Club so when I do have to shop, it will be paid for and no after Christmas bills.
