Talking Past poor purchases reap benefit today

Returns! Dh is notorious for starting a project and buying all sorts of gadgets and things for it b/c he can't find what he needs in his 20 million tool boxes. Well, now that we are on a budget, and he's going thru boxes to pare down what we'll have to move to Colorado with us, he found 3 bags of stuff that could be returned to WalMart.

So today I took it all back-- $70 worth of stuff. And today was tax free clothing day, so I was able to get some relatives some badly needed clothing. It's our "Back to School" box for them. Each boy is getting 2 pairs of jeans at $5 each and 2 t-shirst each at $3 apiece. Dh and I don't have kids but would gladly dress them in thrift store finds, but this aunt refuses even though they need clothes that fit them! So these are new and the jeans should hold up better than khakis or sweats, etc.

I also got 2 baby blankets -- they're a really snuggly soft kind and last year I gave one to my SIL for our new niece. She said baby slept best when swaddled in that particular blanket b/c of the "give" in it. SO I got 2 more -- one for another SIL due in Jan, and one for a friend due in Dec. They were only 4.50 each.

So today has been a no-spend day! I wonder what else I can find to return! LOL
