CHANGE YOUR LIFESTYLE

"I wonder if the word "rich" will give people the wrong idea. I think that when people see a book that promises to make them rich, they believe that they'll wake up one day to find huge bags of cash have been delivered to their house. In other words, they want to get rich so they can change their lifestyle, instead of changing their lifestyle so they can get rich." ~Graham Powell, seen on a financial blog

"I think most of us here (SavingAdvice.com) help keep our backs strong and appropriately flexible by stooping to pick up pennies.

A penny a day keeps the chiropractor away.

Didn't Ben Franklin say that?"

Arggh...I can't help reviving this thread even though it's old.
MOST vast fortunes are made by NOT doing productive work or contributing anything of real value to society. Work that contributes real value to society brings little money.
But then again, this is a B***h of a life, the unfair kind. Everyone knows that by now.

And favorite money quote:

"There is no greater dignity than living below your means".

I don't remember who said it but I read it in one of Andrew Tobias' books.
