Default $30 bonus for new amazon credit card account

I recently visited Amazon's website and saw that they are offering a $30 credit if you sign up for their credit card. They claim that if you apply for a new credit card, your new cc account will begin with the $30 bonus. Has anyone tried it yet? I am wondering if there are any catches. I read the fine print carefully and couldn't really find any. I thought that $30 bonus would be a good way to buy a few new dvd or something. Any experience you can share would be appreciated.

Thanks

Default Re: $30 bonus for new amazon credit card account

Downside: when you apply for any credit card, they pull your credit report, which generates an inquiry. Too many inquiries lowers your credit score. So I'd think twice if you've applied for any kind of credit in the last year or so and you are trying to get (or keep) your score up.

Lots of rewards systems like the Citibank "Thank You" and www.points.com offer Amazon gift cards.
