the ones he put on ebay are already edited thru photo shop or suite.... is there a special background, lighting items, cameras? that will create a special pix... we even thought about having the pix developed at wag.... area51workshop is some of the edited pix... hope it is okay to say this, just talking about pix here, i swear... thanks..

What I normally do is place the item on a white background. It doesn't have to be anything special. I've used anything from a white blanket to a piece of styrofoam to a construction paper, and they seem to work well enough.

Then, I would take at least one light source and shine on the item, just right out of the camera's field of view. Again, nothing special here. I have used a desk lamp with the brightest energy saver bulb I have, and that has worked out well enough.

Then, I would snap the photo at around 12 to 15 inches away from the item. I would experiment with and without flash and pick whichever looks better.

It is possible that there may be an incorrect setting on your camera. If it's on auto exposure, you don't want to center your camera on anything bright, because everything else will become too dark. If it's on manual, it's possible that the exposure setting has been set too low. Shutter speed will also affect the level of brightness in your picture.

Photoediting is like make-up in that it can only do so much to hide certain imperfections. Therefore, even if you send it to a quality lab, they can only do so much within the given constraints of the source image. The ideal goal is to snap the perfect picture from the get so, such that one does not even need to edit it.
