Default Money Kindness

I came across an article about random acts of money kindness and it got me starting to think about acts that I have both received and given.

When I was in college, I was in an airport in Europe ready to come home and had my money coming out about even. The only problem was that I had forgotten about the airport tax and was $25 short of being able to come home. As I was talking to the agent about the problem, a business man stepped forward and paid the tax for me. I'm still grateful today although I have no idea who this person is.

On my side, I do small things every once in awhile. The other day I was going into a 7-11 and there were a group of young boys that look liked they had just finished baseball practice. All were dirty, hot and sweaty and they were on the curb counting the money they had between them to get a drink. I remember those days when I used to play sports and how hot and thirsty you can get. I purchased a large during for each of them (they were still counting the money when I left, so I just said that I had bought them one each as I walked out the door...I don't think they believed me because they sheepishly walked in and from the surprise - and huge smiles - on their faces when the cashier told them it was true.

I think it's important to give in small ways like that and I have always found it comes back to me many times over. Have others done things or had someone do something for you that you remember and truly appreciate?

I think that these are important for everyone. Those that receive and those who give. There is nothing better than to have someone make you smile. It isn't the amount of money, but the timing. You can do this without spending any money. Even a good job, you look nice today, that's a pretty skirt can have such a huge effect.
