Default For any of you following my drama. . .

I was married April 8th. My husband is a firefighter. He started a local union (affiliated with a national union) at his firestation. May 8th he was fired. No reason given for termination, even when he asked. The only record of discipline was a letter addressed to him 2 days before he was fired. The letter accused him of "alleged negative verbalization" but gave no examples. The letter was left for him on a table.

In the days leading up to his termination, he had obtained a business license to negotiate for the union and had asked that the union be added to the agenda for the next board meeting (the request was ignored) Coincidence? me thinks not

Sooo. . . my husband now has a new job (a station with a pre-existing union). He was hired on Tuesday and starts tomorrow. His case was reviewed by the national union who decided to fund our case. We found out last week and we've been assigned an attorney.

I really appreciate the information shared on these boards. Living on one income when you have a house payment based on two is tough, but we managed thanks in part to the helpful advice on this website. I also enjoy reading these boards since there is so little bickering in comparison to other forums I've visited.

If I was successful in my upload, a wedding pic is above.

Thanks again!
Sara

Hey, that's terrific news, BCHGRL!

What happened to your husband was utterly despicable, but I'm glad things are looking up.

Unfortunately, I don't think your upload was successful. Either that or I'm blind because I don't see the picture anywhere. Did you click on "manage attachments", then "choose file", then "upload"?
