I am thinking about selling a couple rings that I have. I do love them but I am wiling to do that to remind myself that my heart is not into materialistic things.
Ah, I see, I was just wondering..My phone is old and looks like a umm phone no one types on it or anything! I have enough troubly trying to put in my 'password' so I was just wondering how far the tech has come...(or how skilled your fingers were!)

And you are prolly in the minority of worrying about company time I know everyonce in awhile DH tells me how long it is 'supposed to take' to do a job or something and it is WAY less real time, I think the guestimated time was padded by way to much emailing/thread reading!

Order water with all your meals out. I bet that would save $100 a year and be a lot healthier!

That's a good tip. Appetizers, beverages (especially alcohol), and desserts are all high-cost additions.

Another tip: Order breakfast for lunch if you have to eat out. Cheapest meal on the menu most places.

I'm sure someone has already mentioned this before, but here's what I do...

When I have to buy something somewhere, I pay cash and never dig around for change - I just use the dollar bills. What change I get back goes to the money jar at home. About every 4 weeks, I'll roll up the change and when I get $100, it goes to the bank in savings.

Another thing I do...all my rebates from RiteAid and mail-in-offers go into savings.

I also pay myself when I clean the house. I transfer $40 over everytime I do house cleaning (which varies from weekly to biweekly depending on how much we're home). I use to pay someone $45 to clean bathrooms, kitchen and den every 2 weeks, but now I pay myself because I still budget that money for cleaning.

And I have an automatic debit from my account monthly to a higher yield account. My paycheck take home pay does not reflect this amount so I don't "see" it. It's gone before I get it - easier to not miss it...

Dixie

Switched to a cash rewards credit card that pays 1% on purchases.

Barter services. It helps if you know someone, but you can look on craigslist or the internet or just ask friends and family. DH is a computer geek, big time. He can strip them, build them, program them, you name it. Applies to laptops, pda's and the like too. We had a major problem with our cars suspension a few months back and it was going to cost us est. $2000-$2500. (More than the car is worth, IMO) We bartered computer services for labor from a friend and parts ended up costing us around $800. Saved us a bundle.
