What's Your Financial Weakness?
What do you really like to spend on? I like to buy cooking gadgets. I have a weakness for those even though I know I will probably only use the thing once and it will end up in a yard sale. What is your weakness?

I buy only AA grade pure maple syrup and milk in paper containers because both taste better than their cheaper alternatives.

Re: What's Your Financial Weakness?
hmm I think quality is worth it so I don't call that my weakness, but getting someone else to cook is! Cause it often isn't high quality, it is just someone else cooking!

Re: What's Your Financial Weakness?
I'd have to agree with sweepsplayer. One of the main reasons that I am so careful with money is so that I can enjoy life's little pleasures such as eating out, going on holidays and daily excursions. Not only does it give my family memories that can't be taken away but it also it means that we don't have "stuff" cluttering our house.

Re: What's Your Financial Weakness?
eating out could easily become a weakness...
but right now it's cheap clothes/shoes/accessories from yard sales... sure it might be cheap at 10 cents up to $1 cents but it's still money i spent... i occasionally can be tempted to spend more than $1 but that's only for things i need or things that are normally very difficult to find... i've been going to yard sales for 15 years and if it's something i know i might not see again for a long time if ever then i seriously consider it...
i average something like $5-10 a month on clothes so i guess it's not the worst vice... plus i either sell, give away, or donate my old clothes so i feel like it's not too bad...

Re: What's Your Financial Weakness?
Clothes from Target and Mary Kay cosmetics. I am trying not to spend money on that but it’s the only thing I splurge on while I have been strict with the rest of my budget. I think being single and a job position in HR/Staffing has a lot to do with it.

Re: What's Your Financial Weakness?
Same as kaelina - love to shop at thrift stores and garage sales for clothes. My closet is packed, but I really enjoy it and I budget only $20 per month for clothes (and usually don't hit it). Most people spend more than that on one shirt...so I don't beat myself up about it either.
Love to eat out too...

My car and trips. I have been on the traveling abroad bug for just under a year now. An expensive hobby!

Books and music. I have a person business account so i only purchase "me stuff" if I have that checkbook with me. Therefore, I try and keep the checkbook at home when I absolutely don't need it.

Re: What's Your Financial Weakness?
We love to cook and appreciate good quality kitchen ware. We bought new Calphalon cookware in December - $400 for the set - but it is far better than the run of the mill set we replaced. So expensive but so worth it to us.
I'd also have to list eating out, though we are budget conscious (and calorie conscious) when we dine out, so it isn't really that expensive. We often skip appetizers or share one between us. Sometimes we share the main course and we almost never get dessert at a sit-down restaurant. We'd rather stop for water ice on the way home and spend less for the 3 of us than for one piece of cake at the restaurant. But overall I think we eat out more than we should or need to.

Eating out, cook books, and kitchen gagets.
Oh, and dog stuff sometimes too.

Re: What's Your Financial Weakness?
Mine is definately eating out. We go out usually 6 nights a week, sometimes 5. We do order cheap meals and brown bag our drinks, so our meals are usually under $20, but that is still a lot of money every week.

And how could I forget travel! We love to travel. The only reason we don't do it more is because work gets in the way. If I could retire tomorrow, we'd be on the road a whole lot more.

My latest buying binge has been connected to survival gear. My latest purchase was a set of cast iron camp dutch ovens for cooking.
