Ray: when you have one month expenses saved, you might want to peek at Jesse's YouNeedABudget spreadsheet. It's 19.95 for a spreadsheet, which some people might think it weird, but it's an advanced puppy-it'd take at least 40 hours to duplicate. It's very nice for tracking and working at living below your means. I don't know Jesse (JMJJ215), I just got his sheet because I needed to track my Minimum Wage challenge. Just a thought. Normally I wouldn't adbocate a 20 expense, but this one seems quite good.

I often think about this, but I'd rather find a way to spend less than try and find something more to do. I just don't want a fuller schedule than I already have. So I try to clip the budget, or find a better interest rate. I like earning interest for the first time in my life! Granted it's just a couple hundred a year right now, but that's better than nothing! I also like watching the interest I'm paying go down! I look at it as wasted money, so the less I waste the more I save.

*Have a yard sale!
*Ebay items

Helps get rid of the junk or "junque" in the house too! We are saving for a new net for the kids trampoline, by adding up our ebay sales.

I do volunteer work at my children's uniform shop. In exchange I get free second hand uniforms. Saves me a lot of money especially as they aren't yet into brand names.

Giving my kids pocket money saves me a lot of money as well. Before pocket money I always seemed to either have my hand in my pocket or have to deal with cranky kids after me saying no. Now they have their own money once its gone its gone and they know not to ask Mum for anymore.

I make between $50 and $60 a month clicking on paid e-mail links. I actually made more last month but I was getting too many e-mails and it was taking too much time so I cut back. At present, it works out to about $2 a day and takes me about an hour per day. Not a good pay rate, but I do it while watching (listening) to a TV program that I like; so it would otherwise be idle time.

I made $58 as a Mystery Shopper so far. I just started this a few weeks ago. I may make more as I get more involved and schedule more jobs.

I considered selling blood plasma but decided that it wasn't worth it to wait in a waiting room and then sit while the plasma is being drawn and going through the process, in general, for what you get. Still, it is an idea and I'll keep it on the back burner in case in need some quick, extra cash sometime.

And yes, garage sale, eBay, etc. I have sold many books on Half.com and have sold some items (milk glass, framed prints, etc.) via a local auction house.

I have just started doing paid surveys/emails. I haven't actually received any $$ and it doesn't add up to much but it's still free. I am about to start training to teach online classes so that will be extra money when that gets going.

There is not much I need anymore, but I do wait to buy what I need when it is on sale, if possible. I need hair color and it is two dollars off this week with coupon, so I will put that $2 in my savings challenge money. I enjoy looking at the interest I get every day posted to my two main accounts. Right now I am making about $23 a day.
