Re: My One Dollar
Okay, here are some ideas, all thanks to the tightwas gazette. Listent to those that apply, through out the ones that don't.
1. Use half the laundry degrent the box says, even less if you have soft water. This also applies to dish detergent, shampoo and any other cleaning product/soap.
2. Cut dryer sheets in half, or better yet, hang dry your clothes.
3. IF you kids are still in diapers, get cloth ones and use them. (Really it's not that bad.)
4. Get use to powdered milk instead of gallon milk. (Yes this can be a little hard, but think of it as an aquired taste. You can at least use it for cooking and cereal where you will not notice the difference.)
5. Generic...generic...generic....Less expensive and generally just as good.
6. Price book....learn where each food item is the least expensive and buy in bulk where possible.
7. Get rid of all paper products. No more paper plates, paper towels, etc. (Personally, I draw the line at TP, but I know there are those people who don't, personal call.)
8. For now, no new clothes, but when you have to, thrift stores and garage sales only.
9. Try living without cable for a month and see if by the end of the month you really do need it. Many find the first few weeks hard, but after a month or two, they don't miss it.
10. Have you considered selling items you have to pick up a little extra cash to make it through the next few months. A good cleaning purge feels good and a garage sale can bring in enough money to get by for a little while.
Okay, enough for now. If you want more ideas let me know.
