People who don't vote.
I am so sick and tired of people who don't vote and come on internet to vent and rant about our government all day long.
People who don't vote should just stop talking.

I have to agree. I was so proud to vote that I went and registered on my 21st birthday. (back then you had to be 21)

Re: People who don't vote.
If you choose not to vote, you have given up your right to complain!
(if you did, and you don't like whoever won, you can always have the bumper sticker that says: I didn't vote for him!...if you voted for whoever won and don't think he's doing a good job, get the one that says: I DID vote for him...but I regret it! LOL!...no, seriously, if you voted, you have a right to be heard regarding whatever it is that your government is doing, if you didn't you gave up that right, because not voting equals saying that you'll accept whomever/whatever the "others" - those who DO vote - decide!)

Re: People who don't vote.
I mostly agree. That is, I believe people should take responsibility as citizens and educate themselves concerning issues and canidates AND THEN vote.
Frankly, however, those people who go by what they've heard in news sound-bites or public opinion polls or who form their opinions without any real basis required -- I'd just as soon they stay home and not vote.
Too bad they don't. (Stay home, I mean.)

How do you know they haven't voted?

Re: People who don't vote.
Some people don't seem to even know who are running in most local elections anymore.

In my case, I know a BUNCH of my friends who complain and complain about politics. And, all of them had better things to do on election day than vote. (And, by better things, in most cases it meant sleep.) So, when they start to complain to me, I just won't hear it.

Re: People who don't vote.
I don't have a lot of patience for people who don't vote. It is the one thing that we, the masses, can do to make a difference in our country and to sit back and not do anything makes me mad. I'm not a fan of complacency!
That said, some of my friends didn't vote in the last election. The election was two days before my wedding, and *I* managed to make time to vote! My friends didn't vote because they didn't think either candidate deserved the presidency... that it was like being expected to choose between 'Dumb' and 'Dumber'.
Well, you get what you deserve, IMO. I voted for the person I thought was the least corrupt. I wasn't a fan of either candidate, but I had to do *something*.
