Remarried and did it right this time
No prenup but with the farm and all our stuff/animals we joke that whoever wants out has to deal with all the stuff, heck it's almost as bad as kids so we stick together, lol!Seriously we BOTH learned a LOT from bad previous relationships and watching our parents relationships and will NOT go that way. We've been together 16 years and don't fight, it's not worth fighting, to much stress. kj |

This was one couple I was suprised that ended up in divorce court. His daughter advised him not to marry her and to sign a pre-nunp. With the little that I do have and it's not much in this day and age I would sign and have my future husband as well to sign

Have been married, mostly happily, (every one has their ups and downs) for nearly 13 years. My hubby jokes that we will never divorce as "half of nothing is nothing". Then again it means I have nothing to lose...hmmmm....just jokes.

Happily married for eight years now. We have dotted the i's and crossed the t's with all the necessary papers, i.e, will, living trust, etc. . We're very content and hubby is retiring in June with 36 years, 8 months working as a postmaster and supervisor. He is retiring at the tender age of 55 years of age!
We both have been previously married. |

Married 16 years this summer. This was my 2nd and DHs first.
If only I knew then (during the divorce) what I know now....The divorce was the right thing..I just wished I hadnt spent so much in attorney fees over the years fighting a losing battle (child support)...Oh well. DH and I are happy and are finally starting to see some fruits from the last 16 years of hard labor. ![]() |

Married my high school sweetheart in 1990. We joke that our house is a divorce free zone because whoever leaves has to take the kids, so nobody is going anywhere! LOL!

What about if we're just looking for someone who's divorce and wanting to remarry?
Been single all of my life (never even lived with someone!!!), but haven't let that stop me from reaching any financial/life goals. Granted, it may take me longer to get some things done that I'd like to do, being the only income is mine. Guess what a "coupleship" would add is someone to do some of those things with, not to mention, help take out the garbage and cut the lawn. ![]() CJ |

Well I have been happily married for 29 years. I was previously married for 12 years in a very unhappy marriage, I did not know my current husband when I left the first one. My divorce was final on April 4, I got engaged on April 2nd (same year, 2 days apart) and was married on May 13th. so I was single for 5 weeks in the past 41 years.
When I married the 2nd time, I owned my own home free and clear and I did not put it into my husband's name, I kept it in my name only. After being married 7 years, we moved and built a new house in both names. |

Wow Ima, that's terrific!
Um, but isn't it a little reckless to get divorced and the engaged again so quickly? I'm certainly glad it worked out, but can you tell us what happened that made you transition so quickly? |

When I met my husband, (it was a blind date), it was love at first sight. He felt the same way. We never spent a day or night apart after that.We knew that first week that we would get married. (It's been almost 30 years, so it must be a good decision)

Ima, did it take a lot of pleading for you to go on this blind date? Did you say after you and your 1st husband got separated that you weren't interested in meeting anyone else?
I met my husband on the internet. I was on Compuserve signing off for good and my future husband had signed on to Compuserve for just one day to find a map of an island his people are from. I visited this room that my future husband was in to say goodbye to some of my friends and my girl friend, who was the hostess of this room, asked me to say hello to this guy. After pleading from her (I had just broken up with someone and didn't want to be bothered) I spoke and that started a wonderful friendship that led into a wonderful marriage! Eight wonderful years now! I do believe in predestination. Some things are just meant to happen and will happen when the time is right. ![]() |
