Well, I am too old for sports, but I enjoy sitting out on our back porch a lot. We use to cook out on the grill almost every night; still do on the nights we are home. I enjoy watching the birds come to feed, including the hummingbirds. I like watching the lightening bugs, something we did not have in florida.
MY DH built a deck directly above the creek, so that is my favorite thing to do, sit and watch the creek go by and let my puppy sniff around the yard. |

you put me to shame. we use our fenced in backyard for the dogs, playing with our 1 year 10 month old son, cooking out, sitting on the deck, and that is about it. we also have a flower bed that we play around with.

Sit on my duff and read a good book and sip a Dr. Pepper.

in our leftfront side yard.. we camp in our tents.. we have a built in stone campfire... this location is close to the outside water faucet.. we roast marshmallows, have coffee, tea, hot cocoa in thermos... we roast weiners, make food on the hot wood coals... our neighbors all come over when we make a bon fire, so to speak... it is a fun time... we have 2 huge bug zappers going, hanging in the trees, and the lawn is treated prior for insects.

in an apartment now, no real "yard" but we do like to grill outside. other outside time is spent biking or taking walks.
at my parents house we have a pool-- and they have a nice back deck. when I lived at home we ate dinner outside on the deck whenever the weather was nice. we swam when it was hot. we play with the dog (the yard is fenced in). when we were younger we had a whole swingset/fort type deal in the back yard, but when we got older we got rid of it. I liked to lay in the hammock when it was nice and read. |

During the summer we're barely in the house.
Our "yard" is 82 acres, lol. We plant, disc, plow, hay, garden, cook out, hang around, hang laundry, play with the dogs, horses, cats, take care of the turkeys, chickens, rabbits, cows. All in all we live in the yard during the warm part of the year. kj |

I like this question!
![]() In our yard, we... entertain. go out on the boat. sit on the dock. enjoy a campfire. grill. play horseshoes. play badminton. play frisbee. use the hottub. My little sister and my mom made a fort and called it "Kidville". It is actually really cute. It's like a house with a roof and everything. So, when we have kids over they play there. Also, we have a little play gym for the kids. We also open up our garage door (it faces our backyard) and then we play air hockey, foseball, darts and other games. Our driveway right outside our garage is like a really large patio. We use it for entertaining. |

Thanks Markio, we love our lifestyle too, some days it isn't easy but it's SOOO worth it to us.
We're both city raised and the learning process has been interesting, our first farm was 25 acres and to have moved there from a one bedroom apt was quite an eye opener, lol! The first year we ran out of fuel oil and the temps were -20! We cut wood on a table saw to burn in the wood stove! Oh, and ahh, septic tanks, power that goes out, fences that need fixed, critters that need fed, yep, it's full time but it's SO worth it! We love our land and do all that we can to treat it right, in return it treats us right. kj |
