No, when a movie gets this much hype it usually ends up being a stinker. I did like Hanks in that Polar Express movie he did though!

Yes, I am planning to go and see it. Even if it's just to see the sets, & scenery. I have read the book too! I may go next week, I post my review on it when I seen it.

no i do not plan on seeing the movie.. i am sure my son will rent it.....remember the mel gibson movie on the life of christ a few years ago... that was really emotional.... i do recall when i was lil girl, ppl. saying jesus had siblings... i did hear them mention the mary magdalene as more than a friend... but, speculation is all it is... your faith will sustain you...just shake it off......

I read the book when it first came out before all the hoopla (or I just wasn't paying attention) and I read it as a work of fiction. I will see the movie, but I'll wait to rent it with a free blockbuster coupon or something-rather spend my money on my eating out addiction.

ITS A WORK OF FICTION. No need to go on hunger strikes! lol

With that being said, I think Ill spend my movie on "Over the Hedge" and save the Da Vinci Code for Netflix.

I loved the book and plan on going on Saturday to see it with the wife. I can't wait!!! BTW, I never trust the reviews. I loved the movie National Treasure and it had bad reviews too.

I'm still deciding on seeing it in the theatre or just renting it. I read the book and I like to watch movies based on books I've read just to see how it is portrayed. But the book is always better than the movie. Sometimes the movie is so much worse!

I have a feeling that the Da Vinci Code is much better book material and really does not translate to an interesting movie.

BTW, I read the book as a fictional work, which it was written as.

I haven't read the book and I don't plan on seeing the movie, unless of course my BF drags me to it.

I absolutely refuse to see the movie. Not even on DVD. And I am SO disappointed in Tom Hanks.

When the Church has to come out and tell people to boycott it for christianity's sake - that's good enough for me.

Apparently this movie insults ALL christians!

Exploiting the last acceptable bigotry...

I'd like to see hollywood dare to make a movie like that against Muslim beliefs! Ha that'll never happen! Cowards and liars that they are!

Sorry for ranting....

Ouch...pretty harsh to attack the entire Muslim faith. Believe it or not, most Muslims are good people like the rest of us, given a bad name by the militants. But just my two cents...not trying to turn this into an issue, but I don't like to see any religion attacked and felt that something should be said.
Dh and I only see about 2-3 movies a year and this WILL be one of them. We loved the book and have read everything of Dan Brown's (just finished his newest - could not put it down!). I read it as fiction, but welcomed the thought-provoking questions it raised.

My apologies... I read and reread it before posting to try to see it another way, and I just couldn't read it as that. Would you like me to edit my post? I don't want to offend...

I thought the book was fantastic, but I'll wait to see the movie on DVD. It takes a very special movie for me to justify spending $9+ (and sitting through 45 minutes of commercials and previews) to see it in a theater.

I enjoyed the book and will probably see the movie. I read it as fiction but can see some plausible ideas in it about Jesus and the Holy Grail.
