Smile do you speak to everyone, you see?

i was laughing about my 2 acts of kindness i try to do a day and it got me to thinking... my spouse gets annoyed sometimes, because every where i go i talk to someone... sometimes i help them shop, if they cannot find an item.. i usually know the mgr or someone who works there.. i try to be friendly.. 90% of the public is nice.. 10% is not... i think it comes from my nursing, realtor, beautician back ground, etc.. we even have welcome friends barrel top on our garage door...

No, but I would like to. I often meet people in resturants sitting close by and talk to them, especially if they seem friendly.

Talking to random people in a major metropolitan area can be hazardous to your health.

It depends on the mood of the day. I can be rather single minded if I am focused on task. If I am not doing/thinking about something I am generally friendly. If I'm on a plane or waiting in line I have no problem striking up a conversation with the person next to me as long as they are willing..sometimes they are not.

If i'm in a rush, i tend to just do my thing and that's it. But when my pace is slower, i often strike up a conversation with whoever i run into, whether it's a sales clerk, a passer-by or whoever. Usually p eople respond positively

No, but my mother-in-law sure does!

I don't like to be bothered when I'm shopping. I like to get what I came for and be on my merry way.

I'm with Sweeps on this one. This city is far too big, and there are far too many people everywhere I go. I'd lose my voice and my mind within minutes.

It is easier to talk to folks as you move away from big cities.

I don't get out much but when I do I try to go out of my way to be helpful and pleasant. I do like to practice acts of kindness whenever I can, helping unload groceries, letting people ahead of me in line, etc. I'm not in a hurry when I go out and remember when I WAS always in a hurry and how nice it was when someone would go out of their way for me.

It really depends on whether I am in a hurry or not. If I'm not, I'll usually strike up a conversation with a person or two. At school, I don't really talk to random people much (I talk to people in my class though...), they are usually busy with other people or studying or something else.

Here in england people don't really like it if we strike up a conversation.. they give you this shocked stare for a few seconds.. say some english nice words and move on.... but if you walk your dog.. or have a baby.. then they tend to talk to ya..

Personally I love to chat to people.. cuz I'm stuck in doors all day.. and the hubby doesn't know I'm alive.

This depends on if I've got my band of kiddos with me or not. Usually, we look so different, most people will go out of their way NOT to talk to us, or get close enough we could talk to them.

If I'm on my own, I'll talk or help anyone I come across. Love being outgoing. Used to be incredibly shy & I could see it was so limiting, so I made a decision to change. Glad I did.

Umma, that is sad. I often talk to strangers when I am standing in line, I guess I just like talking to people. I am home alone all day too, so I enjoy "talking" on the computer to nice people like you all!
