If you had to earn $1000 in two weeks how would you do it?
OK...I want to get my credit cards paid off. Fast. If you had to make $1000 in two weeks, how would you do it? It is possible? Would it take longer, say maybe a month? This would be in addition to your regular income.

I guess I would sell something. Or get a second job. (I don't have a job at all)

I agree with Ima saver. If it had to be done in two weeks, I would sell something. What's the going rate for a cranky 6 year old boy with a bad attitude? Hmmm...we might be onto something here!

I agree with a garage sale. I'm doing that as we speak.
Currently, I make more with overtime than I will with a second job. However, when that condition changes, I'll gladly pick up a second job.

Re: If you had to earn $1000 in two weeks how would you do it?
Just finished a garage sale with over $1100 in sales (they weren't all mine though). I guess that means it can be done, but it would probably be easier with a few pricier items on ebay if you have them.

Garage sale is good if you have stuff in your garage. You have to make 500 dollars a week for two weeks. There is temp work. You could sell some personal posessions.
It might be a tad easier if we knew your skill set.

Re: If you had to earn $1000 in two weeks how would you do it?
I'd check my local Craigs list for the wanted items.........to see if I had anything someone was looking for. Easier & no cost .......compared to the garage sale.
I would also check the temp. help wanted posts.........to see if there was something I could fill.
And, I'd advertise my skills and my time frame, to see if someone needed what I could do.

Ima saver--Does your slot machine work? I would love to buy one for Dh! If you're ever on your way to Canada, bring it on up...I imagine that the shipping costs would be HUGE!

Re: If you had to earn $1000 in two weeks how would you do it?
Id put an ad in the paper for firewood and pray someone was still chilly ...if that didn't work, Id do a preseason sale and have to sell more to make the extra up....
Other ways I could do it:
babysit (alot)
donate plasma
recycle every can/bottle I could find
get a part time job
sale something
Figure out how I got in this predicament and get a game plan going so it wouldn't happen again....
But I could also tap into the Freedom Account and come up with a good portion of it.

Re: If you had to earn $1000 in two weeks how would you do it?
all of the replies were great... i might add my two cents... i would free lance, like marketing jobs, where i would do product demos, find treasures at the curb prior to trash day and post on the local bulletin board... i would rent out a room to a college student or retired person.. i would pet sit.. i would look for an office cleaning job... hth

Re: If you had to earn $1000 in two weeks how would you do it?
I am loving this website/blogsite/forum. If this question would have been asked at the upper echelons of business or the government, an answer would have taken six months, innumerable meetings and a dozen focus groups, not to mention an arm-load of funding, to receive. Here you get concrete, common sense answers in less than eight hours. Thanx to all for your help!

I made an extra 1300 this week... 700 from a yard sale and selling old stuff on craigslist, and 600 from a part-time freelance gig over the weekend.

Re: If you had to earn $1000 in two weeks how would you do it?
I don't know that I'd be able to make $1000 in 2 weeks on top of being at my job for 40+ hours a week. I'd have to try to sell stuff, but I don't know that I could re-sell things for that much. We could sell our cars, but we kind of need them.
I'll have to add another vote to the Red Light solution... haha.

Yes, my slot machine works just great It is pre 1940 and I paid almost $1000 for it back in the 70's, so I know I could get that much for it now.
