I have been selling bags that I make, but I would not be able to make and sell $1000 worth in 2 weeks, while working 40 hours a week at the same time. At the end of November I sold about $670 worth of bags, then sold maybe about $100 worth each month from January through March. At the end of April I sold $490 worth of bags. And this past week I just brought $460 worth of bags to be sold in a shop a couple towns over. I've got names of two more shops where it has been suggested I bring my bags, I just need to make more before I can do that!

In the past couple weeks I've taken some short shifts at work on my day off for overtime. (Time and a half is a nice bonus on the paycheck!) I just can't do this too much or I start to feel burnt out.

You would have to try a combination of things. But you'd have to be willing to work very hard at it.


1. Yard sales - and not just on Saturdays (try Fridays and the rest of the week too!)

2. Sell your stuff on Ebay and Amazon.com.

3. Moonlight with a high-paying part-time job. Scour the classifieds.

4. Take out an ad in the classifieds and offer your computer skills to others willing to pay for it.

5. Pet sit for a pet sitting agency.

6. Walk dogs. Wash cars. Flip burgers. Wait tables. Deliver pizzas!

7. Take frugal to the extreme! A penny saved is a penny earned.

8. Pray!

You can get some part time job at night if you work during the day, but as far as I know those jobs pay much less an hour than the same full time jobs. Yea, I work nights only, but I save by not having to have childcare.

Other ways to get the money just depend on you luck. You might find some, or sell some items that you gor free-after rebate. I sold some razors (free samples, don't like that kind), and haircolor (don't use it) on ebay.

The other way is to change your W4 form so they would take less taxes. (take some interest-free loan from govmt)

I'd moonlight to different firms and offer to draft docs as an independant contractor. Wills and trusts would be enough, especially in a paper-pushing firm that does high volume and won't pay for full time employees. I've thought of doing this to help fund my CJ's 529 and mad money fund.

Sell stuff like crazy. I admit, we're aiming to get outta debt. But we weren't so terribly bad off that we sold near everything. I've got a few things on hand that I could sell for $1000 if I needed it in two weeks, no problem. (Dh and I could share one vehicle, one of his toys could be sold, a tanning bed, a welder, some tools, etc.) I just feel like this all is extra insurance should something terrible happen. Nothing has yet, we're still able to hit about $1800 a month to debt, so feel like we're doing good enough to not sell everything but the kitchen sink.

Yep, sell stuff, get more stuff from garage sales, curbs and sell it too. I like the mowing yards idea. That is just gas and time and if you are good and have a good mower, you could make a lot in a weekend!!

ok..honestly..i could sell my old pickup truck. it only has 78000 miles on it..but i hate to drive it..i could sell a bunch of my extra things thta i dont use anymore....if i was desperate to make the money...id sell my horses and my kareoke things...(this would be only if i couldnt get the cash anyother way and it was a matter of life or death). i have a dimond ring thats not too important to me..and cds and dvds..theres alot i could sell to make money.

i dotn think i could do any job where i could earn that much in a couple weeks. but i have alot of extra stuff to sell. thats my only idea.

I actually just came to a point in my life i had to earn $2500 in 3 weeks time and we did it plus some by using eBay and craigslist! Gotta love em!!

I agree with ebaying whatever you can (that you can part with).

Or maybe...you can find some people who work alot and offer to clean their houses/apartments (specific areas like kitchen/bath/dens only) for $40-$50/per visit (depending on your area's market). I know my sister would upfront someone $1000 if he/she would clean her place once a week for however long they agree to it. I'd put it in writing though - look at it as a loan but payments are made in labor . 2 hours (or however long it takes you to clean) per week for 20-25 weeks is doable in my opinion.

Of course, I would bring my own cleaning supplies, but use their vacuum cleaner. You can make cleaning supplies for next to nothing!

Just a thought!
