Default Mr. Rebates vs. Ebates

I used Ebates a few years ago and earned a little (I wasn't dedicated to always saving money as I am now) before I quit. Now I have seen the banner ad to Mr. Rebates here at SavingAdvice.com and I visited that site. I was wondering, since it would seem to be counterproductive to join and use both sites, which one of these programs, if either, is better?

Here is another consideration:

Mr. Rebates
Ebates
FatWallet

As I compared them, Ebates and Mr. Rebates had the most rebate links that I would use and with only one exception either one or both of them beat FatWallet.

My concerns are:

1) Mr. Rebates does pay out until you have reached a $25 balance. It already takes a while to credit for rebates, so it could be a long time of usage before you get paid. Has anyone used Mr. Rebates? Has anyone been paid?

2) Ebates will pay out sooner as your balance only has to exceed $5. They allow payment through PayPal; I'm not sure if Mr. Rebates does. However, I have heard from several people that they did not get paid properly as members of Ebates. Has anyone used Ebates? Has anyone been paid?

Thanks.

I started using eBates in October, when I started my saving spree, and I've only been kicking myself for not starting sooner! Especially on Tuesdays, when they have double points occassionally, or when you can stack a deal with free wtih purchase and free shipping and gifts.

I've received 3 checks, and I've always received an immediate email notice that the credit of purchase had been applied to my account.

I've made purchases through a few other sites...Club Mom did not credit two of my purchases at all, even when I showed them proof. My Points I use for those weird little things that eBates doesn't have.

I haven't tried Mr. Rebates.

I like to check 247malls.com for coupon codes before hitting eBates...quite a few additional deals to add in.

My DH did not get a check from eBates, his first quarter, but it turns out he had not provided them a mailing address...they corrected it as soon as he notified them.

There is a site that compares "rewards" for different sites; someone posted it on my blog, but I don't recall what it is. evrewards? Someone?

Are these sites like CoolSavings and load a bunch of junk spyware on your computer?

Good question but no. Ebates has an optional 'bar' you can install (IE only I think, regardless, I wouldn't install it) but otherwise no, I don't think there are any issues of concern.

No. Coolsavings isn't, in my book.

Ebates, do NOT install Mo Money Maker, which is a data miner, but other than that, they just serve as marketing venue. Ebates gives CASH BACK, which I prefer to rewards. They track your purchases made through the site, but that's it.

All things considered, I've decided to go with Ebates. Thanks all for your comments, etc.
