I intend to live my entire life without a cell phone, heck, I don't even like the old phones!

I had ATT and it was awful. It became CIngular and ehhh!

I now have Verizon and my service is much better. I can track usage online and pay the bill online, snail mail, at their offices, or at certain locations.

I get calls to any Verizon customer for free. Most of my familoy and friends have Verizon. I get 700 minutes and free nights(after 9p before 5a) and weekends. I am thus far a very happy camper!

Verizon Wireless; free calling after 9:00P on weekdays and free calling on weekends no limit. We also have free calling with others who use Verizon. We have 450 minute limit.

We have Cingular and had lots of dropped calls until we upgraded our phones. Turns out older phones are not particularly compatible with the combined transmission towers, etc. of ATT+Cingular.
We have great reception now! Any place in our house, most office buildings, etc.

I have Verizon Wireless, and have had it since June 2002. I am satisfied with its reception. I never have a dropped call unless I do something stupid like try to keep talking while going on the elevator in my apartment building.

I'm from Western NY which I where I had my phone from June 2002- July 2005, Now I'm in Central NJ. My phone has worked well up in Stowe VT (northern VT), all the way down to Florida (while driving from NY to Florida), and it has worked out on Cape Cod in MA, except for when I was right on the ocean and in a wooded area back in the summer of 2002 and I think their coverage has since improved.

Free calls after 9, I have a joint plan with my boyfriend for 500 peak minutes and we only use about 250-300 peak minutes between the two of us each month.

Our parents are both Verizon and many of our friends are too, so there is free "IN" calling to other Verizon phones.

The only phone I could find that worked in our area (small town) was Alltel. i use a camera phone. My MIL has one too so I send her a picture once in awhile to let her know what she is missing. Wish I could talk my DD into one! When we lived in a bigger city I used Nextel because of the walkie talkie thing which I now understand has gone to a much broader area. I used it alot becouse I was in a profession that required alot of communication.

My mom, sister and I share a T-mobile family plan. We share 1000 minutes and we have added on the unlimited text messaging for the whole plan. (They had a special, and we couldn't pass it up!) There are a few small patches where I notice I don't have service. Like this one corner in my neighborhood, when you turn it and you are on the phone, it'll blank out for a second or two. But, that is the only one I notice. With traveling though, we've noticed that T-mobile doesn't have the greatest service in Ohio or in smaller towns in GA. Also, I don't have service in the basement level of some buildings downtown Atlanta. It doesn't really concern me, but other networks have service and T-mobile doesn't.

It really depends on your area which will be the best. I have Cingular and have nationwide service. I have been able to use it fine in Chicago and Florida. However in the moutains of New Hampshire I hardly get reception.

I would look to see where there are towers if you are plannning to travel alot.

We have a Razr & it's great! Seems popular w/ pickpockets though, so if you can afford it I'd buy replacement insurance, at least for the first year.

we received our new vzw cell phones on friday... i love my new razor... it is fushia... it works much better than the old motorola of a year ago.....i had.. spouse got a black razor, son got the bluetooth one.. anyway, spouse may send his back, he uses national access at his work alot and the razor doesn't have it... so, he is still deciding... so, far son loves his.. and the bluetooth phone dropped $30 cheaper than what they were charging us, so, will call vzw tomorrow for price adjustment.

I'm looking to get one for business soon - it's about time. I'm thinking of a nokia b/c I heard their reception was exceptional. I just need one to call - no fancy stuff.

Hi all,

Does anyone know if Tracfone will "port" my current number from T-Mobile? I'm looking to cut more of my expenses, and since I don't use my cell phone much, I think that's a good place to start. Kind of a pay as I go plan instead of a pay even if I don't go plan.

Thanks in advance,
CJ

I have been eyeing up the razr lately. My old Motorola V60 drops 50% of the calls, and the other 50% I cut short & call back from a landline so I can hear better.
