Default Mom's Salary Calculator - How Much Is A Mom's Work Worth?

I'll be the first to admit that the work a mom does can't have a dollar amount placed on it, but what if you took the work that the typical mom does and calculated what that would be worth in the business world? Salary.com has done that and come up with the following calculator so that mom's can figure out what they are worth.

Yeah, so why is that a bunch of guys who chase a little ball around (like football) earn in the millions of dollars?

Why the working mom's salary is less than SAHM only?

The working mom does all the work that SAHM does + work. So instead having all day to do all the housework, she just has half of a day and it still has to be done. Working mom ends up working more hours.

cause a working mom generally sends the kids to daycare (hence paying for a babysitter..not being one)

Then I will be a SAHM and my dh will be SAHD for our kids. We'll be wealthy. (just kidding, that would make us homeless)

it is really hard to put a number onto the amount that a mom should make annually... the list of her duties are endless... also, what about all the physicological techniques she must use on the family... sibling rivalry, motivating spouse, etc.... scheduling, management of household.... i personally think, a $2500 spousal ira, should be invested for each stay at home mom... at least...
