Default Are you a morning or a night person?

I am a night person. Its always hard for me to wake up in the morning. And it takes about 2 hours after I wake up for my brain to start working normally unless I eat something sweet, then I am ok. At night I have much more energy. I can stay up untill... whatever and don't really be tired. I am more tired in the morning (and hungry). Is anybody else like that, or there is something wron with me?

My dh and my son are night people too. My son(3yr) sleeps untill like 11am. But my daughter(1yr) wakes up like at 6 am, but she goes to sleep like at 10 pm. But she catches up during the day. My son doesn't sleep during the day. I can't sleep during the day either. If I take like 30 min or 1hr nap (if I get my son to sleep in a daytime), I wake up same tired like in the morning, even worse.

I'm more of a night owl (get it from my dad). My ideal is to go to bed between 10:30 and 12 and wake up between 7:30 and 8:30.

I am or have been a night person, but I'm finding that I'm liking the searing sun more and more. I've preferred the night in the past because I think I like the quiet more than the fact that it's dark. That and the sun produces a glare on the computer screen.

However, I also find it hard to sleep when the sun is up and hard to feel more energetic. I've read elsewhere that sunlight is important for your overall psychological health.

Nowadays, I've become a day person, but I also have learned to sleep better and try not be as stressed out as I used to be. I think I'm doing better overall, though it's not entirely conclusive yet.

It certainly is an interesting subject, and I'll have to ponder more on it later.

My ideal is to go to sleep at midnight and wake up at 8, but I have to wake up at 5:30 because my dh goes to work. And if I don't feed him, then he will not make breakfast himself, and even might forget his lanchbox. That happened a few times, so I wake up because I care about his health. My dd wakes up at 6, so there is no time for me to sleep. But sometimes if she would wake up at night then she is more likely to sleep until 9. So I would rather have her to wake up at night than early in the morning, so I could go back to sleep when my dh leaves to work.

I've always been more of a morning person. I prefer to go to bed by 10 or 11pm and wake up between 7 and 7:30am. I have most of my energy first thing in the morning. Then, it plummits around 3pm. I get some of it back after a snack and/or cup of tea, but then it drops off again after dinner. But, I still end up getting most of my work done after 7:30pm when my daughter goes to bed. Go figure.

I am very much a morning person. I have been most of my life. I will get up anytime after 4 am. I have sleeped in if I am still in bed at 7.30 in morning and I am in bed by 10pm. Even then I worked I did the extra early shift starting before everyone else and went home earlier too!

I was born a night person. I came alive at night and could stay up forever for very little reason. When I had kids I tried very hard to become a morning person but never really made it. Then I started working 24 hour shifts and had to get up at any time and be very very awake for what ever calamity the pager was telling me I had to handle. Since I have given that up I discovered i can be whatever I need to be and on very little sleep. My DS2 gets up very early so I do also and am actually awake! My DH works early in the morning but sometimes we stay up late and I find it has little effect on my frame of mind now. The other day I was up till 4 and then up at 6:30 and was fine till we went to bed that night at 11:00.

I am a morning person...I am wilting by 9 each night and rarely make it past 10.

My housemates, DH and DD3 are both night people....so weekend mornings are really quiet for me until around 11 (DH works nights and sleeps late most days)

Definately a morning person. My alarm goes off at 6:45am and I get up immediately, do an exercise tape, wake up the kids at 7:30, get their breakfast organized and have a shower.

I hate being out of routine...even on the weekends, if I sleep until 8:00, I've slept in!

Morning person. It's hard for me to stay up must past 11 p.m., and the morning is when i have the most energy. I'm really sleepy in early afternoon, but then have another burst of energy in the early evening.

I was a night person... all through college, and working as a resident counselor at a shelter for teens -- I worked shifts like 1pm-10pm or 10am-10pm or 2pm - 11pm. Then I'd go out afterwards.

Now (and since August 2005).... I am a preschool teacher, and my shifts range from 6:30a-5p to 8:30a-7pm. I have to be a morning person now!

I made the transition surprisingly easily. I started needing to get up early, so I made myself go to bed early. I slip on the weekends a lot and end up staying up til 1 or 2am if I sleep in too late, which can screw me up a little for Monday. But I do like being up in the morning and getting stuff done. If I sleep in too late I feel like I'm wasting the day. I found this to be true especially during the winter, when it would be dark when I woke up, and dark when I got home from work.

I'm not really either. It sounds odd, I suppose, but I'm equally up/down morning and night. In a perfect world, I think I'd go to bed at 10, read, fall asleep at 11, and get up at 7:30. I know that I'm NOT a late afternoon person!

Up until a little over a year ago, I was a morning person. Throughout school I was up at 6, in bed by at least 11 (usually 10). But, when I started dated my boyfriend, it was long distance and we ended up talking on the phone everynight. This kept me up to 11:30. At that same time I started taking classes later, meaning I could get up later. So, my schedule as gradually ended up to where I am now. I go to bed anywhere around 12 - 1am. Wake up at around 7 - 8 am. But, I still like to consider myself a morning person, because it is very hard for me to stay up as late as I do.

by nature a night person (would love to be able to get up at 9am, which is when my brain officially wakes up!)...but, since Alejandra wakes me up at 6:30, by 11pm I'm dead!
