Wink do you dress from your clothes basket?

i have made a new rule in our house... morning launch clothes are placed in family members individual clothes baskets... this way, we have less time wasted going thru drawers and closets... this is working out well...
now, i am thinking about a bedtime basket for the bathroom, so, everything is ready to use, after the evening shower.

Is this along the same line of lying out the next days clothes before you go to bed so you arn't hunting for things, like shoes, and making yourselves late? Same idea would work with the shower...no more walking around in a towel.

I usually get my clothes ready the night before, so I don't look for them in the morning. I also make my dh's lunch ready the night before and put it in the fridge. I don't usually look for things, I usually remember where they are, unless my dh would take something and don't put it back where it suppose to be. Then I am in trouble. He usually doesn't remember and has a habbit not puting things back. By the way, doesn't any body have any suggestions how to teach dh or kids to put things back where they belong after they use it? That would help a lot to keep my house organised. I am tired to pick up everybody's stuff.

If we have limited time to dress we get the kuds stuff ready (they pick, I stack) but in general the longer they take to get ready the less time they have to play, their loss...

As for teaching kids, don't put it back..wait till they notice it missing, for older kids (or DHs)- hide it, they will not want to go out with ungeled/combed hair or whetever..

For everything keep it where it is most used if possible. (easier to clean)

For things that the family shares get on em fast ...we all use a pick, but after I comb a kids hair I send them back to the drawer immediatly..no toys nothing till it is put away. Then again with the next kid, then well I always forget when I use it! fortunatly we have two!

My dh doesnt have to use a hairbrush ( he has really short hair), so he can't loose it. He is often looking for his things, and I have to help him to look for it, like his keys in the morning. I just hate it.
I teach my 3yr old son to put his shoes and clothes back when we come back from outside. He even puts away my dd's and my shoes away. He is a big helper. I want to teach him that every item has its place and thats where it should be when you don't use it. At least he doesn't ask why, like most other kids. He just takes it for granted. Looks like he likes to keep everything in order.

You have a smart son there, he may have worked out already if you put it the right place the first time you'll get a longer play & funtime!!!

As for the keys have a fancy jar or container near enterance that your husband enter's & exit by. That's any keys can be put into it as you walk by. If anyone finds any keys around house that where they are to be put.

I have fancy fruit bowls that any small items are put, when you need a place to put anything down (small items junk bowl)

As for other things, a box under dinning room table or in a corner somewhere. At end of month have family funtime of empty it, if they don't claim it and remove it to the right place, then it's trash!!! Just tell them to 'look in the box' if they want it before then.

Only if I don't get the clothes put away in the drawers! My bedroom has all the drawers built into the master closet, so that is a big help.
